CHAPTER-4

It’s been 2 days and my dad still hasn't said anything regarding his decision. I didn’t say anything to my friends, I wanted to say the final decision, so I kept quiet even though they asked me, my reply was I will tell later.

Shishi is busy with her work, but my paati I don’t know who is younger, whether it is me or her. She is such a power bank, always energetic. Since it is my study holiday and also my last semester, I wanted to score high marks, so I’m studying like I don't have any intervals between my exams.

Hours were passing like minutes, soon it’s time for dinner, like always we sat together and started to dig in and we ate our dinner silently and I silently went to my room to read.
But my Dad asked me to stay…. I’m nervous like hell and even if they say no, I won’t show my disappointment. I’m ready to face it!

Dad-how is your studies are going?
Seriously Dad, won't you agree. I was thinking

zaha- I am doing well, gonna revise before sleep.

Dad- we  checked that university and I am satisfied with the results.But we don't want you stay at hostel.

zaha- it’s ok Dad I'll do my MBA here itself.with a sigh I started to walk to my room.

Mom- zaha, wait, come and sit. We still haven't finished our talk…

Yes as your Dad said I’m not ok with your stay in the hostel but….
zaha- but?
Mom- but you can stay with your cousin and she is happy to have you there!

I still can’t believe it….. everything feels like a dream.

Granny- let’s do the shopping then! She shouted, raising a hand in the air… My grany beauty!

After chit chatting and pulling each other's legs, we call it a night!
I went to my parents room, I knocked the door.

zaha why are you knocking the door ma? Come inside, I heard my Dad say well how they know it’s me?

How do you guys know it’s me? I asked slightly, opening the door peeing inside only my head was visible.

Mom- zaha kutty come inside, she said, chuckling.
Dad- come….

zaha- umm didn't sleep?

Mom- what about you?

zaha- I shook my head.I said and laid my head on Dad’s lap. He is stroking me softly.

Dad- come on ask me!

zaha- how did you know?

Mom- we know our baby.

zaha- mom ….. I whines

zaha- you guys are happy right?

Mom- why are you asking?

zaha- I am going to stay away from you and home.

Dad- we know that zaha and we trust our girls, they will make us proud, that’s what Dad said and Mom nodded her head.

zaha- I’ll definitely make you guys proud and that’s the last thing I remembered, Dad was stroking my hair, this feels heaven and I went to my dream land.

Morning I woke up in my parents room, I checked the time it was 8 o clock, I think I slept like a cow!

I went upstairs to do my morning chores, after that I descended downstairs to have breakfast. Today I decided to go to the library and tell them that I’m going to England!

So I called them and told them to come directly to the college, and they said ok. I told Mom that I need some notes so I’m going to the library, she told me to come back before 6! Now it’s 11am. We have more time.

I reached college by bus, went directly to the library , and before that I put a message in our personal group to come to the library and I put my mobile on silent mode.

I reached the library floor, some students were in a hurry to get notes at the last minute and further I moved in. Some PG students were immersed in their research papers, some students were standing in queue to return and take books. I went directly to book shelves to read some fictional books.

I was lost in my own world, I took one book from the shelf, it was quite big one, I carefully took a look and just raised my head a little.
Thud. The book I was holding slipped from my hand and I gasped, there was a figure between books grinning at me.
