I was waiting for this elevator to take me to the first floor with bated breath. When I get to the floor, I swagger over to them. I heard receptionist calling her little brat. But then her comeback was amazing. Fiesty little flower.

My colleagues were observing everything and some males were looking at Zaha, so I yelled at them to get back to work.

I hauled Zaha to the elevator after firing my receptionist. She attempted to remove her hand from mine, but I refused to let go. She asked me to  check my phone, which I did.

I didn't see Ingrid's message because I always put my phone on silent mode. George had sent me a message suggesting that Jack's wife wanted to meet me. I requested that he bring her to my office so that I could speak with her alone.

I exited the elevator and made her to sit on the sofa outside my office room, leaving her delicate tiny hands behind. I walked into my office and spotted a woman in her mid-thirties with a little daughter.

She asked the small child to wait outside when she spotted me. I motioned for her to take the chair across from mine.

"My name is Emma. I came here to show my gratitude for all that you have done for me. I never imagined I'd be able to get away from him in my wildest thoughts." I discovered that he abused his wife and daughter.

"It's all right. He got exactly what he deserved!" When he tries to hurt my little flower, I don't know how I can let him out.

“Sir, I can't accept this job offer because you've already done so much for us. I'm also uneducated. All I know is how to cook various cuisines and bake."

"You should also consider your daughter's safety." My mother, who runs an NGO, and I talked about it. I'm following my mother's instructions.

"You can work as a cook on my mansion because you say you can cook, and you can stay at our guest house while our NGO takes care of your daughter's schooling.

Eventually she agreed and we walked out of my office. With a cat in her hands, her daughter dashed towards her mother.

“Is it okay if I pet this cat, Mommy?” With hopeful eyes, she asked her mother.

Emma agreed after Zaha’s words. Emma's daughter kissed my cheeks and thanked me for the magic. And they left. What magic was she was talking about?

I wanted to know why she gave the cat I gave her to that girl, so I motioned her to come over to me, but she remained still.

I took her hand in mine and led her to my office to speak with me.I was about to close the door -
"You need to sign this document, boss. Harry began to speak, but when he saw Zaha, he stopped.

“Good day, Zaha! It was a pleasure meeting you”. He gave her a friendly smile.

“Likewise”. She was beaming.
“Could you please provide me with a first-aid kit?” She inquired as she took a glance around.

“You're free to go”, Harry. But- boss, I interrupted him and motioned for him to go.

I grabbed the first-aid kit from the shelf and handed it over to her. She took it from my hands and sat down on the couch, just as I did.
She took my hand in hers and examined it thoroughly before removing the white cloth.

"You have a big owie," she gasped and dressed it properly. All the while, I couldn't take my gaze away from her.

When she was finished, I stood up and headed to my desk, where I picked up a phone

When she was finished, I stood up and headed to my desk, where I picked up a phone. I handed it on to her.

Please accept my sincere apologies. I'm terrible at this. I should have done some practise beforehand.

If I accept, Mr. Vozenilek. I'd turn into the gold digger to which you alluded. She said it in a pleasant tone, but I sensed she was mocking me.

I know I said hurtful things to you and even called you names, but none of it was meant to be taken seriously. It was conceived in the heat of the moment. Why can't she see that I'm attempting it? I'd never said so much before, and I'd never apologised to anyone.

Seriously? You're having trouble saying sorry!

Make an extra effort. Ingrid's words echoed in my mind.

Why are you wasting your time and mine, Mr. Vozenilek? I despise it when people spew trash about someone they don't even know. You just met me for the first time. You've known me for hours, but you misjudged me. I have a hard time trusting people, Zaha, but I want to trust you and learn more about you.

Silence embraced us, and she stared at me for several minutes. “Do you truly want me to forgive you, Mr. Vozenilek?”

Then try harder!
