Y/N walked out of class, looking straight ahead with her head held high. As the day edged dreadfully closer, the more she became anxious.

She feared for what the future held.

Will she ever achieve the acceptness of her father, or even get that awful feeling out of her stomach to prove her worth to the Dark Lord — or her sister.

Conflicted in the head, she needed to stay confident and not face any distraction. Although it was extremely hard at times, she tried, she really did.

"Hey heartthrob!" Pansy teased as she walked past Y/N with Goyle.

Y/N started to even grow into the nickname, it was obnoxious, but it was to the point where she cared less and less.

"Ah, you made it!" Cedric wore a tight Hufflepuff sleeveless top that was cropped, exposing a bit of stomach. He looked ready than ever, more prepared than the other day where he was in his school attire.

Y/N nodded, clutching onto the strap of her duffel bag.

"I almost thought you weren't going to show."

She studied Cedric, and she sensed that he almost seemed relieved. A lot of the slytherins, including Y/N, thought his usual smile he had on everyday was an act. But Y/N started to question it.

"This is my spot, so of course I'd be here," Y/N said, deadpan.

"Indeed it is," he drawled. "I was thinking we focus on some wand training actually. If that's alright with you." Cedric pulled his wand out from his waistband, twirling it between his fingers.

Y/N looked at the fidgety boy. She slung her duffel bag off, tossing it to the ground. Her eyes narrowed at him. "I came here to physically workout. Not practice spells."

"Yes, but some of the spells require you to hold some strength," he went on, "remember the spell you used to blast water at the dragon from the first task?" Y/N raised a brow. "It was gone — just like that. You need to learn how to grip it right."

The girl was surprised he even remembered that, even more surprised Cedric watched her battle.

"That was one time," she defended.

Cedric strutted towards her, chuckling. Their height difference becoming more noticeable. "Well, just in case, it wouldn't hurt to prepare so it doesn't happen again—" he trailed off, abruptly stopping to her side and pointing the end of his wand in the direction in front of them.  "— I placed some of your little dummies around the branches of different trees. I stabled it a bit so it's stronger. Watch."

There were about six spread out, all at a different distance. The ropes were triple knotted around the dummies and the stuffings inside looked more puffy. She assumed that was the adjustment Cedric was talking about.
