꧁꧂ Present Day ꧁꧂
Age: 11

Year one

We all sat at the table as our mom served everyone breakfast. She served breakfast, and Dad was about to dig in, but Mom slapped his hand with a spatula. "You're supposed to wait till everyone has food." She lectured. He quickly apologized and waited. She served the rest of us breakfast. Once she placed food on my plate, she kissed my head. "Happy birthday, dear." Then gave Ron food doing the same thing.

Since my birth wasn't recorded, there was no way to find my exact birthday. Which is why they made my birthday the day I joined the house. 6 June. Our owl flew through the window and crashed onto the counter. Percy got up and took the letters from his beak. He handed the letters to Mom and then put his attention back on his plate.

I gave our owl a piece of food from my plate. He ate the food and rushed out the window. "Ally how many times do I have to tell you? He has his own food, he doesn't need yours." Mom said as she sat down. "I know but it makes him happy." I explained.

Mom went through the letters, a couple went to Dad and one was for me and the last was for Ron. We opened our letters eagerly once we saw who it was from.

Dear parents/guardians of Alastor Weasley,

Congratulations, you have been accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Attached to this letter will be a list of items your child will need for the year.

Sincerely, Albus Dumbledore

I handed the letter back to Mom so she could read the list of items we needed to get. After breakfast was done we all went out to get everyone any missing items on the list. Most of the stuff we already had so we only needed a couple of things.

Once we made it to the book store Mom got all the things we needed. Once it was paid she came back to us and placed it into the cauldron. "Now I know Ron has scabbers, we have some money left for the school budget. Ally, would you like an owl, toad, or cat?" Mom asked with a big smile on her face. This caused a huge smile to spread across my face.

"Could I have a cat!?"

"Of course!"

We went to the familiar shop and I browsed the cat section as Mom got the necessary food. I then picked out a female short-haired solid black cat with emerald green eyes. "I'll name you Willow." Mom paid for everything and I carried my new cat in her carrier. As soon as we bond I'm going to teach her some basic tricks.

A couple of days went by and it was now time to go to Hogwarts. Mom was rushing everyone to finish packing. Once everyone was done packing we rushed to the train station, mom even then was rushing us to get to the train. Fred and George ran through the gate after poking some fun at mom. "Excuse me! Excuse me!" A boy called out as he pushed his trolly towards us.

He looked at the gate a little nervous and then back at Mom. "Could you tell me how to..how t-" Mom cut him off with a smile, "how to get onto platform 9¾?" The boy nodded still nervous. "Don't worry it's Ron and Alastors first time too." She then explained how to get onto the platform. He then ran onto the platform followed by me, Ron, Ginny, and then Mom.

After we said goodbye to our parents we piled onto the train. We three found an empty spot and sat down after putting our luggage away. "My name's Alastor, this is my brother Ron." I smiled kindly, Ron put his hand out for him to shake. "I'm Harry, Harry Potter." He shook Ron's hand. Once he said his last name Ron and and I looked at each other shocked then back at him.

"So is it true? Do you really have the scar?" I asked intrigued.

Harry nodded with a smile, using his hand he lifted his bangs and revealed his scar. "Wicked." Ron said to himself, causing Harry to smile more. I shifted in my seat and fixed my hair making sure it was still covering my neck. Even though our scars are different, yet similar, I can't help but feel like it was the same person who gave me the scar.

"Mom, Dad. I have a question."

I asked walking into the kitchen. Mom was making dinner while talking to Dad, they stopped what they were doing and looked at me. "Dinner will be ready in a little bit dear." Mom said sweetly. "My question was about something else." I said as I shook my head. "What is it?" My dad asked. "I've been meaning to ask this for a while now. What is this on my neck?" I asked confused as I pointed to my neck.

They looked at each other with eyes that looked like they said a million words. Almost as if they were talking to one another in their minds. They soon looked back at me and brought me to the table to sit. "Well, dear..." Mom started then looked at Dad for help. "The truth is, when you were little...a very evil wizard hurt you when we weren't paying attention. And well..." He looks over to Mom for help. "That's why that scar is there." She finished.

"Is that also why you guys are so protective?"

"Yes."

"She has one just like yours." Ron mentioned.

Harry looked at me surprised and a little hopeful, maybe he was looking for answers. I stiffened and made a shocked expression. Then quickly I hit Ron on the shoulder. "Ow." He said as he rubbed his shoulder. "You know I don't like talking about that!" I looked back over to Harry and gave him a small smile as a way to apologize.

"If you don't mind, could I see it?"

I thought about it then nodded avoiding eye contact. I moved my hair out of the way and exposed the side of my neck. I turned my face so it'd be easier for him to see. "Do you think the same person did it?" He asked. I covered my neck and shrugged. "It's a possibility." The train stopped and the whistle blew telling everyone aboard we were here.

Once we were all inside the castle and led into the great hall we were instructed how the sorting works. People were called up one by one and sorted into houses. McGonagall looked down at the list and then called out the next name. "Alastor Weasley." I took a nervous deep breath and sat on the stool. She then put the hat on my head.

"You're no Weasley... you're a Riddle! Your father is an evil evil man, what makes you think you're any different from him? Better make youuu....SLYTHERIN!"

The hat called out except no one clapped or cheered. It was dead quiet and I couldn't feel any more awkward. I looked up at McGonagall nervously. She looked at me with sympathetic eyes and motioned me to go to my house table. I got off the stool, looked at Ron, Harry, and Hermione one last time, and walked over to the Slytherin table.

All eyes were on me as I walked, hushed whispers filled the room. I felt like a flightless bird cornered by a cat. I couldn't help but touch the scar under my hair.
