The next couple of months have been pure torture. Umbridge has taken over Hogwarts, instills these ridiculous rules, and gives us detention over anything small. Now everyone in the school including first-years is going through the torture session with her 'special' quill.
"Episkey." I mumble pointing my wand at my forearm.
But the lines Umbridge made me write are still there. "Oh mother of-" I was cut off from finishing my swearing when I heard a knock on the girls' dormitory door. I opened the door and saw Draco was on the other side. "Hey." I said mustering up a smile as I hid my forearm. Even though he had some of his own I didn't want him to know what mine say let alone how many I have.
"Any luck?" He asks.
"No, and I've tried everything I know." I groaned.
I looked at him and saw his expression somewhat fall. A lot of people were putting their hope onto me. "But it's ok, it goes away on its own in a couple of days." I said. "Yeah but everyone already knows about that." Draco confessed. I smiled softly and kissed him. The common room has been the only place anyone has true freedom and safety from Umbridge. "Draco." I said breaking the comfortable silence. He hummed in response. "I love you." I said smiling.
This is my first time saying this to anybody who's not a part of my family and I hope he says it back. Why wouldn't he? We are dating. His face turned pink and at the tips of his ears, a smile crept onto his face. "I love you too love." He replied.
I was walking down the hall when someone pulled me into a hallway. I was about to scream and punch but I saw it was just my friends. "Don't punch us jeez." Ron said. "Don't do that! I thought I was getting kidnapped!" I half yelled. "Sorry sorry." Harry said raising his arms.
I crossed my arms and looked at them. "So what's up?" I asked ignoring the burning sensation on my fresh lines. They quickly took me into a room where the rest of Harry's friends were as well as my siblings. "What is this?" I asked looking around. Hermione explained to me what it was while Harry began to teach the group.
We all would meet up in the room of requirements for a couple of months now. We learned new spells and perfected the ones we knew about. I taught the group practical potions to take into fights. It was all going smoothly and we had hope. We stood lined up as Hermione and Ron got ready to go against each other. I stood next to the twins who whispered to each other placing bets. "I'll bet you Hermione knocks him down in less than a minute." I whispered to them.
"You're on." They say smiling.
We watched as Ron was smugly getting ready, showing everyone he had it in the bag. As Ron lifted his wand, Hermione cast the charm and sent him flying followed by a girlish scream. The twins handed me my profit, I thanked them and slipped it into my shirt pocket. "Were you placing bets on me?" Ron asked offended. "No." The three of us say in unison trying to hide that we did in fact place bets on him.
"Harry, what if we put some puking pastels in her cup of tea?" The twins asked excitedly.
"Oh, better idea! Put that and one of your diarrhea ones so she experiences both at the same time!" I said.
"That's brilliant!" Fred said.
"Wicked." George smiled.
The night before our holiday break Harry got a nightmare and was sent to Dumbledore's office. "Wake up Weasley." I heard a voice say. I shot up in my bed and was going to punch but my eyes adjusted and saw it was Professor Snape. "Professor? What are you doing here?" I asked rubbing my eyes. "Come with me to Dumbledore's office, it's about your father." He said before leaving the room.
I quickly got out of bed and followed him to Dumbledore's office. Once we were inside I saw Harry, Ron, Ginny, Fred, George, Hermione, Professor McGonagall, and Dumbledore. I joined my siblings and asked what was going on. Ginny filled me in on everything that had happened.
Once we were at the black residence Mom gave us our presents. We all eagerly opened them and revealed we all got hand-knitted scarves, jumpers, or gloves. "Thank you Mom I love it." I hugged Mom after seeing my scarf. She had knitted it in my favorite colors and put my initials on it. A.W.
Mom left the room and soon came back wheeling Dad to the table. He was in a wheelchair temporarily and had bruises and cuts on his face. "Dad!" We all yelled happily. We ran up and hugged him, resisting the urge to squeeze him. "I swear I'll kill Nagini the next time I see her." I said happy that he was alive. "Nagini?" Ron asked. "That's the name of the snake." I answered. "If it wasn't for Harry, I wouldn't be here. So thank you." Dad said raising his glass to Harry.
Everyone followed suit and raised their glasses. I hugged Harry and thanked him for saving my dad. A couple of days later our holiday break was over and we packed our stuff to go back to Hogwarts. "I'm not wearing it." Ron said as he stuffed Mom's handmade jumper in his suitcase. "Why not?" Hermione asked. "Because then I'll look like an idiot." Ron complained. "Ron she made it with love be nice." I countered. "Easy for you to say, yours looks good." He complained again.
The next day during our meeting we were practicing like usual. A lot of us had made significant progress. We were currently practicing our patronus charm. An advanced spell for our age but I'm rather gifted in charms thanks to Voldemort. I thought of my happiest memory, the day I experienced what true family is. When Mom and Dad adopted me. I cast the charm and a Hyena came and ran about.
We heard loud thuds on one of the walls, we stopped and looked at each other. "What's going on?" One of the kids asked. The wall was blown and crumbled, on the other side were Umbridge, Filtch, Cho, Crab, Goyle, Draco, and random Slytherins. "Draco?" I asked. My heart sank, why would he do this?
We were in the common room as Harry, Cho, and Umbridge were in Dumbledore's office with the minister. "Draco why would you help Umbridge?" I asked hurt. "Because he doesn't like how weak you've made him." Crab interjected. I shot him a dirty look. "I have had it with you two! You guys are not his friends, you never were! In the beginning, you were just his goons then when I came in and helped him you try becoming his brain!? I don't think so!" I yelled, each step I got closer and closer to their faces.
"I have been waiting since year two to let go of this bottled-up rage and I think I just found it! You two are no more than insufferable little twits!" I added.
They back up against the wall, scared. I've never felt this angry before, it felt uncontrollable yet...good..? That's when it hit me, deep down I really am like Voldemort. Draco placed his hand on my shoulder. "Love, please relax. They haven't been my friends since year three." He explains. I look at him upset and shift my attention back to the two brainless goons. "If I ever see you two again be an asshole I will do what Voldemort trained me to do." I threatened. They run off after nodding quickly.
I then turned my attention to Draco. "Explain yourself." I cross my arms. Why would he do this if he's been making such good progress with becoming the person he wants to be?
"Umbridge threatened to fire my father."
"He belongs in Azkaban."
"Why do you say that?"
"That day Cedric died...I saw him, he's a death eater Draco."
