𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝

𝙲𝚑𝚊𝚙𝚝𝚎𝚛 𝙽𝚒𝚗𝚎𝚝𝚎𝚎𝚗

His face became a tint of pink like it had whenever we touched or looked at each other these past two years. "Will you be my girlfriend?" He asks unsurely. I stared at him in disbelief. His face began to falter as he saw my reaction.

"I was going to ask you that." I said.

"You were going to ask me to be your girlfriend?" He asked laughing a little.

"No, I was going to ask you to be my boyfriend." I laughed.

"So is that a yes then?"

"It's a yes."

We both had big smiles on our faces. "I've never seen you smile this big before." I say, my smile never fading. "You make me happy enough." He says as if it was obvious. I was lost in his eyes again as we just swayed to the music. Everyone was either sitting at tables, dancing, mingling outside, or had left. I felt like I was being drawn into him, we were slowly closing the gap between us, we were about to kiss until I heard someone call out my name.

They grabbed my arm and separated me from Draco. "Ron, what the bloody hell are you doing?" I asked. "You came to the dance with Malfoy?" He asked. He looked at him and me, "You were about to kiss Malfoy!?" His face scrunched up in disgust. "Ron we've discussed this before." I groaned. "Leave us be weasel bee." Draco said.

Ron looked him up and down with an angry look then walked away. I watched him walk away confused. "Someone probably ruined his night." I mumbled. The ball ended and there were still some lingering people slow dancing. We left to go back to the common room but I saw Hermione on the stairs. Crying.

I looked at Draco with a worried look. "I'll meet you in the common room." I say before kissing his cheek. He blushes and eventually leaves. I rush to Hermione's side as I bring her in a tight hug. "What happened? Is everything ok?" I ask worried. She sniffled and wiped her eyes as she broke the hug looking at me. "You look so beautiful." She said before crying again. I hugged her tight once more and rubbed her back as I rocked side to side trying my best to soothe her.

"You look beautiful too. What happened 'Mione?"

"Ron and I fought about Krum. I wanted him to ask me but he didn't." I wiped her tears away and squeeze hugged her. "Ron's an idiot with love. He does love you, he's just too shy."

The second task, once this is done there's one left to determine the winner. So far Harry is in first and I'm in second, Cedric in third, and so on. If I win this I'm giving the prize to second place because I don't count myself as a contestant. I don't even meet the age requirement.

We were all gathered on observation structures as the contestants were on the bottom in our swimwear. Dumbledore announced the second task and explained to us what we must do. Dive into the water and rescue one lost treasure item, there's one treasure item for each of us to rescue. Sounds easy enough.

I ate my gilly weed and nudged Harry to eat his. "It tastes God awful by the way." I whispered to him. He ate the gilly weed hesitantly and the cannon was fired. Harry and I struggled with the taste and the transformation as the others dove into the water. We were pushed into the water by Professor Moody. Once in the water, the transformation began, I grew gills and webbed hands and feet.

My eyes adjusted to the darkness of the water and I followed the group. The deeper we got the murkier the water got but due to the gilly weed, I was still able to see. I heard the song that played inside the egg, I was getting close. I split from the group and swam faster towards the music. I pushed seaweed out of my way and saw people tied by their legs unconscious. I spotted Hermione, Draco, Ron, and other people I didn't know.

Viktor Krum took Hermione so I swam up and took Draco. I cut him free and I swam with him to the surface. I looked down and saw Harry battling the mermaids for two people rather than one. I started swimming down but saw Draco bubbling so I had to surface. Once I surfaced the gills and webbed hands and feet disappeared and Draco gained consciousness.

He gasped for air and I helped him up on the observation structure. I was pulled up by some of the teachers after him and we were given towels to dry ourselves and keep warm. I took our two towels and wrapped them around the both of us as we were huddled together. I was the second one that came up with a person. The first person was Fleur but she was unable to get her sister.

Next was Cedric and Cho then Harry with Ron, and Fleur's sister. I got out of the towels and ran up to Harry and hugged Ron. "Ron you're ok! Harry that was so brave thank you!" I said happily as I hugged him. Hermione came over and gave Harry her towel as she hugged him. Draco came over and wrapped me in the towels as I began to shiver. "Thank you." I smiled at him. "Anytime love." He smiled back. I couldn't help but blush and look away.

The second task was complete and I finished with third as Harry had second and Cedric got first. Everyone left to celebrate and dry off. "My savior." Draco joked as he brought me in for a side hug. "Hah hah very funny." I giggled as I rolled my eyes. He laughed and kissed the top of my head.

A few days later it was time for the third and final task. A maze with challenges around every corner, the first person to reach the trophy in the middle is the tri-wizard tournament winner. I was getting ready in my dressing room when I heard a knock on the door. I opened the door and saw Draco.

"Hey Draco." I smiled.

"I came by to say good luck not that you'd need it. You're the toughest one in the competition." He smirked.

"Oh, am I? Then why am I not placing first?" I asked smugly.

I leaned against the door frame with my arms crossed. He chuckled and tucked some of my hair behind my ear. "I know you'll win." He spoke as he looked into my eyes with pride. His eyes flicked down to my lips for a second then back to my eyes. I smiled and leaned closer to him never dropping my smug expression. "Guess we'll have to find out." He matched my energy and leaned closer. "Guess so." He said smugly.

We were inches away from each other and I could feel my heart pound in my chest. I wanted to kiss him badly and I feel like he's teasing me. He looked down at me and used my chin to lift my head. We stared into each other's eyes, he leaned down closer to me as he pulled me into him and connected our lips. We were now having our first kiss together. Our lips moved in sync as he pushed me against the door frame kissing me more passionately.

I heard the music begin to play and I groaned. I separated the kiss and placed my hand on his chest, I could feel his heart racing. A big smile crept on my face as I softly pushed him away. "That's my cue." I said reluctantly. He fixed my uniform collar and smiled. "Beat their ass love." He said before leaving. I ran up to Harry and left into the center with him. All the contestants waited while Professor Dumbledore explained the rules and how this would work.
