Jack's POV

"Kind of a big mess we're in, huh?"

"Blood oath!" Currently, Bunny and I were 'keeping watch' over Genie and Sandy. North had decided to just move her into the same room where Sandy was sleeping since it wasn't far away. We needed to move fast since Man in Moon called an abrupt meeting after he saw Genie faint.

He wanted all of us present but I couldn't leave my girlfriend or my friend right now; not in the states they're in. Sandy was still healing from his injuries; and when Genie finally wakes up, she'll most likely be distressed since she now knows the truth about Pitch. So I insisted that I stay to watch over the two of them. North was about to disagree until Bunny backed me up.

Bunny agreed that with the threat of Pitch, we shouldn't leave the two of them alone. He explained that if Pitch were to show up right now, Genie would be his main target. And if he were to see Sandy there, he would finish what he started.

Not some of the best counter points but North saw that no matter what he did or says, there was no way I was leaving this room. So he budged and agreed.

The bed was more than big enough to have two people on, so there was no harm in adding two more, right?

Right when North and Tooth had left the room, I climbed over the two sleeping figures and settled up right against the wall with my staff by my side; I then gently grabbed onto Genie by her shoulders and pulled her towards me until her back was against my chest. Her head fell back into the junction between my head and shoulder.

Bunny had stayed behind with me. He moved towards the foot of the bed, he sat cross legged and had his boomerangs placed on his lap. Pitch would have his hands full if he were to show up right now.

Even if it's just the two of us, we'd surely give him a run for his money.

"And for once, mate, you're not the cause of it." Bunny was trying to use humor to lighten up the drowsy atmosphere. That statement did cause me to chuckle a bit. Hurt to admit it but there was a reason why the word 'mischievous' was associated with the name Jack Frost.

"Very funny but not the time, Bud."

"Just trying to cheer you up."

"Cheer me up? Let's recap everything that's happened in one day: Sandy was almost killed again, the kids in the world are probably having nightmares as we speak; and we just found out that Pitch can break through the barriers, not only putting Genie in danger but also Jaime and Sophie. There is nothing you can say right now that will 'cheer me up.'

With everything going on, I haven't had the chance to let Genie know what we did. As planned, Man in Moon had placed a protective barrier over her home as well. And after some heavy persuasion on my part, mostly just me bugging the hell out of North, I had convinced him and Man in Moon to let me create the biggest snowstorm in history. Because of that, everything in that town had to be shut down. Now her family can't leave the house for at least 4 more days.

I did make sure they had enough necessities to survive: food, water, electricity and such. Yeah, I found a way to make sure all the homes still have electricity and power for their heating systems.

"Jack, you need to calm down."

"I swear, if Genie wasn't in my arms, I'd attack you right now. Is that calm enough for you?!"

How can I calm down when Pitch is trying to take everything I love away from me, again?

Pitch, that damn asshole. I had never liked him to begin with, but now I absolutely loathe him with every fiber in my being. Unknown to a lot of people, except Man in Moon, I had met Pitch previously before the whole 'destroy the Guardians' fiasco.
