Siena POV
I felt so dehydrated, my head was dizzy, and I felt like my chest was about to burst while in the ambulance truck. I heard slight chatter from the firefighter, Maya I think. She was asking questions about how I was doing to the other guy in the truck. She noticed I was watching, and she glanced at me with a smile. "Everything is going to be just fine sweetie, we just need you to relax okay," she said as my heart rate begin to increase.
I was thinking so much. What if my mom and dad see me at the hospital? What if they take me? What if I die? Omg, I can die. What was I thinking? A fire, really Siena come on! My heart rate continued to increase and I started crying myself a river, literally. "Sweetie," Maya said as she began to stroke my hair, "I need you to breathe, okay." She tried to calm me down, but it wasn't working.
She then picked my hand up and placed it on her chest. "You feel that," she questioned. I nodded while sniffling. "Deep breathe in, and out," she motioned with her other hand. We did that a few times, and my heart rate slowly went down. "Good sweetie, keep doing that," the blonde said with a smile, "We are almost to the hospital."
Carina POV
As I walked into the emergency room, I saw Maya come in with a patient. I felt a huge weight lift off my shoulders because she wasn't the patient. Maya stayed with the patient, who I noticed was a young girl. I noticed they walked into a room, and I quickly followed behind them. I walked up to Maya. "Bambina, are you okay, are you hurt," I asked touching her on your face and arms. "Carina, I'm fine," my wife answered as she pecked me on the lips. "I went to get this young girl out of the fire," she added as she pointed at the girl on the bed with her head.
I noticed that she was still holding onto the little girl's hand, and I understood what she meant. "Okay, so she has no serve burns, and her vitals seems to be fine. She does have a lot of bruising on her body so we would like to keep her here for the next two days," Jackson said to Maya and I.
"Did you hear that sweetie," Maya asked the young girl, "I told you— everything would be okay." Jackson walked over to the little girl, "Can I get your name, and date of birth?" I saw that she looked at the blue-eyed woman to see if it was okay to answer. Maya shook her head yes.
"Siena Samuels, June 21st, 2006, I'm 15," the teenager responded with a shaky voice. Jackson thanked her and left the room.
Maya POV
"Siena, what a beautiful name," I said, "I love it!" Which made her crack a small smile. "Ok, sweetie can we call your parents," I asked her. She squeezed my hand a little tighter. "Please, please, don't call my parents. Th- they,—" she blurted out softly. She then begins to cry, causing Carina and I to make eye contact. Carina walked to their other side of the bed and crawled into the bed to lay next to her. "Hey, hey it's okay," Carina said, "We don't call them right now if you don't want to."
Siena laid her head on Carina's chest and slowly started to relax, while Carina was stroking her cheek. Within the next few minutes, she was asleep. We heard the little snores which made us chuckle.
My heart was aching for her. She looked exhausted. She looked like she was fighting for her life every day. I know what that can feel like, but I can sense that she was going through much worst.
Carina was still laying next to her and began stroking Siena's beautiful curls. I was getting angry sitting there holding her hand. Thinking about what type of parents would do this to this child. She's a freaking kid! What the hell! Carina realized I was getting angry because my face turned bloodshot red. "Bella, calm down," she whispered so that she wouldn't wake the teenager. "She's here now, and we will make sure she's safe before she leaves."
There was a comfortable silence for about the next 10 mins, until my phone ringed. It was Andy. Siena was startled and jumped slightly. "Sweetie, it's just my phone," I said standing up. "I will be right back, okay," I said looking at Siena, and she was squeezing my hand. "Carina is going to stay here, I'll be outside."
Siena POV
Maya walked out of the room and slid the door close lightly. I felt very safe in Carina's embrace. I was comfortable too, it's like being next to a giant teddy bear. My throat felt so dry, and I started coughing. "Bambina, let me get you some water," the brunette suggested while getting out of the bed. "Thank you," I said as I was drinking from the cup.
Maya walked into the room and left the door slightly cracked. I could kind of hear everything that was going on outside. "How are you feeling," she asked as she grabbed my hand. "I've been better," I replied handing the cup to Carina. The blonde was talking to me, but I got distracted trying to listen to a conversation coming from the nurse's desk.
"Hello sir, how may I help you," a nurse questioned.
"I want to see my daughter," a man replied.
Omg, what if it's my dad. No, I don't think so, it doesn't really sound like him.
The blue-eye woman waved her hand in front of my face, and said "Hellooooo, Siena, " I sighed, "I'm sorry what we're asking?" I tuned her out again as I heard the conversation pick up with the nurse again after she asked what has her name was.
"Siena, Siena Samuels, I'm her father, Dave Samuels," the man replied.
"Omg," I screamed softly, "Don't let him in, cl- clo- close the door please," I said, starting to breathe heavy and panic. "Carina can you go outside and see who it is while I calm her down," Maya asked Carina. "Yeah, I'll be right back," Carina replied rubbing my head.
"Babe, I need you to breathe okay," said the blonde while she looked into my eyes. "Deep breaths, in and out remember," she gestured with her hand again.
"I ca- can- I can't breathe," I tried to say between each breath. "Please don't let him come in here, he'll be so mad and I ca- I can't," I tried to express before I started crying again. "Siena look at me, and give me your hand," Maya suggested. I closed my eyes and shook my head no, and put my head down.
Maya then sat on the bed, and reached for my hand, and placed it on her chest. With my head still down I opened my eyes, while the tears continued to fall down my face. I then slowed down my breathing and started to take death breaths. Maya said "Siena, look at me," and I didn't move my face, so she tried again. "Sweetie, look at me," and she tilted my chin up to look at her. "Who are you talking about," she asked.
