Author's point of view

It had been years since Sol, Joon Hwi and all of them graduated but they still keep in contact with all their professors, including Jong Hoon. She is now a criminal defense lawyer. As for the prosecutor-turned-professor, life is pretty much the same, nothing changed.

Come to Hankuk Law School today. There's a case I have to talk with you about.

Jong Hoon messaged Sol.

Let's come together.

He messaged her. And she agreed to do so.

"I'll be the one to carry your bag." He offered, smiling.

"You don't have to, I can do it." She said no, feeling somewhat uncomfortable. While he was driving, he held her hand on purpose.  "Umm..." He mumbled and pretended it was an accident. It was she who removed her hand.  When they arrived, he was the one who unbuckled her seatbelt.

"This is what a boyfriend does to his girlfriend, right?" He asked, his face so close to hers.

-Days ago-

"Kang Sol, when will that day be?" Joon Hwi asked as they were taking a walk together at Hankuk University Law School. They decided to visit there and take a walk to see what had happened around.

"What do you mean?" She asked.

"You really don't know?"

"Ya, Han Joon Hwi. What is it?"

"Remember when I asked you out years ago?"

"You said we should forget about it and remain being friends." She replied.

"But, Kang Sol, you said you want to focus on your studies." She nodded. "Now that you are a lawyer and I'm a prosecutor, don't you think we should be together?"

"But, Han Joon Hwi..."

"Wae? Are you going to say you want to focus on your work now? Didn't you say my future wife is lucky?"

"Just give me time to think about it." He nodded and smiled. She walked past him and he followed her.

--

Sol told Ye Seul about it.

"He's been waiting for you for years. You should date him." Ye Seul said. "Besides, you said you sometimes find yourself blushing around him."

--

'Ye Seul is right. Joon Hwi has always been there for me and I kept him waiting for years. I should say yes or it would be unfair for him.' She thought.
So she told Joon Hwi she was saying yes. But deep inside, she liked him only as a friend. She felt as if she was indebted to him and the only way she could thank him is to date him.

-Present-

On their third day of officially dating, their former professor called them to Hankuk University. After their short meeting about a controversial case, Jae Hoon, Jong Hoon's best friend was there. "Hyung." He patted Jong Hoon on the shoulder, greeting him. He also did greet the two.

"Gaja?" Joon Hwi asked Sol and she nodded. They said their goodbyes to their seniors. Jong Hoon and Jae Hoon also went together. "Why are you here?" The professor coldly asked him.

"'Why are you here?'" He jokingly mocked him, rolling his eyes.

"What do you need?"

"Hyung, come on. We're like brothers. I just want to see you."

When they arrived at home, Jae Hoon bowed in front of Jong Hoon's eomeoni and greeted Jong Hyun. Then the two sat in his office while drinking coffee.

"Hyung, about Sol A and Joon Hwi, they seem closer than before." Jae Hoon told him.

Jong Hoon didn't say anything and just took a sip

Jong Hoon didn't say anything and just took a sip.

"Oh, mian, I shouldn't have asked you. I forgot you like her." He smirked.

"Ya, Lee Jae Hoon. I told you I don't like Sol A."

"Okay, Hyung, chill. But you know what? Sol A seems to like Joon Hwi only as a friend."

"How did you know?"

"Wae, Hyung, are you interested?" His eyes widened mockingly. So he just took a sip of his iced Americano.

After a few minutes, someone messaged the prosecutor-turned-professor.

Gyosunim, can we meet again? Joesonghaeyo.

Sol messaged him.

"Ehem, ehem

"Ehem, ehem." Jae Hoon cleared his throat when he saw what he was smiling at.

Sol's point of view

When I arrived at home, Attorney Park Geun Tae messaged me and told me I have to go back to the office. So I did so. "One of my friends referred a murder case to me. It's a very controversial case and I don't think I'll be able to do it." He handed me some documents.

When I read the documents, I wasn't confident I would win this case. The suspect's fingerprints were on the victim's necktie. And the victim died of strangulation. The suspect was also the last person seen to be with the victim.

When I saw it, the first person that came to my mind was Yang-gyosunim. Years ago, he was accused of murdering Seo Byung Ju-gyosunim, making him called the 'law school murderer'. And the evidence was so strong that no one believed him. But eventually, he was able to.

Gyosunim, can we meet again? Joesonghamnida.

I messaged him. He's the only person who can help me with this case.
