Author's point of view

When Sol woke up, she was alone on the sofa. She checked the time. It was 7 in the morning and she usually woke up at that time.

"Gyosunim?" She looked around but he wasn't there anymore. There was a piece of paper Jong Hoon attached on her phone saying; 'Don't forget to eat. I cooked food for you.'

Her tears turned into a smile. She opened her fridge and ate the food he made for her. There was a note on the table. 'Your clients' lives depend on you. Get up and go to work like you would normally do.' She read on the note.

"He cares more about my clients than me." She pouted and just ate. She was too tired of crying. She cried to sleep last night.  But the truth was, Jong Hoon just didn't know what to say.

For him, actions speak louder than words. In the classroom, as a professor, he could say whatever he wanted to say to his students. In the court, as a prosecutor, he delivered his points effectively. But as a person, he never really knew what to properly say to comfort someone. But him being there for her was already more than enough.

The papers for the murder case they were working on was on the table. There was a piece of paper he attached. 'I read it all. I didn't change anything. Good job, Kang Sol. You learned a lot from me.'

"He still sounds like I'm just a student to him." She said. "Well, who am I for him to like?"

"Yang-gyosunim?" Jong Hoon visited Sol in the office. They didn't agree to meet today but he came voluntarily.

"I-I c-came here to read your points a-again." He sounded hesitant and somewhat nervous.

"But you said you already read everything."

"I-I did? Well, I forgot to read some parts." He lied. The truth was, he just wanted to see how she was doing. He wanted to know if she was okay. And that was the only excuse he could think of.

She was sitting on her office chair. While Jong Hoon was standing beside her. As they were talking about the case, her phone rang.

"Yobeoseyo?" She said.

"Sol, there's a 50 percent chance that Eomma won't make it and a 50 percent chance that she will. If she doesn't make it, let's end our relationship as sisters here!" Dan was so mad at her.

"Dan, mianhae. It's not like I wanted all these to happen. I... I'm also her daughter. I'm affected by this too... So Ple-please, Dan..." She started crying again. Jong Hoon's heart broke. He wanted to hug her and all but he couldn't. He was about to pat her shoulder.

"Stay away from her."

"You're taking advantage of her."

He heard those words from Dan again.

"I'm hungry. Let's eat jjajangmyeon." He said instead and removed his hand. He wanted to distract her. He knew she loved jjajangmyeon with extra pickles.
