The Myth

Chapter 12

Seoul National University Hospital 4:00 PM

The Department of Surgery Doctors are gathered at a conference room for the monthly meeting of the hospital. Dr. Gong also has something to announce. Some of the department heads were also their as well as Director Lee Dong Wook.

After the meeting, Dr. Gong request for everybody's attention especially the surgeons.

"Ah everyone I have to add something to the agenda of this meeting as I have something to announce." Dr. Gong started as she glanced at Dr. Lee Ji-eun the Chief of the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics of the hospital who was already looking at her with a smile plastered on her  beautiful face.

"Dr. Yook will get some of my current patients as well as some from the future and some activities outside the hospital as well as I will be away because of something." Dr. Gong added. Sungjae who was slowly dozing of the meeting got shocked of what he heard as he jolted up his seat.

"I-mo why me!?!? Are you-" Sungjae got interrupted as Hyunsik covered his mouth using his hands and then pulling him back on his seat.

"Let I-mo finish." Hyunsik whispered to Sungjae before signaling Dr. Gong to continue.

"As I was saying I will be away for a few months because I'm 4 weeks pregnant!!!" Dr. Gong announced as Sungjae's jaw dropped because Hyunsik clapped.

Everyone was cheering about the news as Director Lee ran and lifted Dr. Gong.

"Really!?!?!? Are you serious!?!?!?" Director Lee asked as he couldn't contain his happiness and turned while lifting his pregnant girlfriend and then gently putting her down.

"Really." As Dr. Gong showed her the ultrasound photo of the baby that she took when she consulted Dr. Lee.

Everyone was congratulating them.

"Because of this I will be giving you guys more work as I can't get stressed as it will be bad for the baby." Dr. Gong informed them but the doctors and nurses present promised her that they will help her and catch some of her work.

Everyone was happy for the couple when they went out of the conference room. The boys mainly Dr. Shin, Dr. Lee, Dr. Im, and Dr. Yook is among them.

"I'm so happy for Samchon and I-mo." Changsub told them.

"We all are and besides, we were with them since then." Peniel corrected him.

"Yeah. We witness almost everything they went through. Anyways let's go inform Eunkwang Hyung and Minhyuk Hyung about this as well as Ilhoon." Hyunsik added before they walked to their office to tell them.

The doctors were slowly adapting to the changes for a week now as Sungjae also is getting used to more work.

He covered some surgeries for Dr. Gong and checked some reports written by the resident doctors as well as the interns as well.

He also visited Mrs. Park who is now healthy though he wasn't able to meet Joy there. He bid his goodbye to Mrs. Park who is now discharged from the hospital and also reminded her to drink her meds and to stay healthy as always. Nonetheless it was a smooth week until the next week when Dr. Gong gave him a task.

"You will need to travel to multiple cities to visit hospitals. You will visit patients also and befriend doctors. We'll also exchange some researches between the hospitals. You'll also watch live feed of surgeries that will happen on various hospitals."

He accepted the task since Dr. Gong was the one that always does those things but Dr. Gong won't be able to since she's pregnant. His train of thoughts got halted when his phone ranged. It was Col. Gong.
