"They're just a bunch of bolts," I cast my mind back to what Officer Jones had told me before I came here for my second night, "they're not human anymore. They're robots and therefore do not have feelings."
"But aren't some robots specifically designed to have feelings?" I counter his argument with my own. I scan his face as I wait for him to give me an answer and eventually he returns with the answer I had been waiting for.
"Not all robots." Was all he said before deciding he wasn't going to win this fight and left me with some parting words, "Night Two is rougher than Night One. Just you remember that." And with that, he left me. Here I am now, standing in front of the Grump Office with my flashlight in my right hand and monitor in my left. My shift started five minutes ago but I'm sure that five minutes won't affect me too much.
I walk inside the building and feel an air of unease hang over me as I walk towards my office- I had claimed that office because it seemed as if they wouldn't really need it anyway. Apparently this was the Game Room where Danny and Arin usually hung around but I hadn't seen them here so I decided to take this as my own little space.
Doink! I heard something hit against the room window. Doink! I get up and walk towards the window where I hear the noise again. Doink! It was starting to freak me out more than it should've, it was most likely some stupid little kids thinking it's funny to throw stones at windows. Seriously why do kids find that funny? It baffles me if I'm honest. Doink! This time I was more annoyed than scared and I took it upon myself to open the window and shout at the kids to piss off but when I unlatched the lock, nobody was outside. The whole place was silent as it usually was and the air of unease hung over me once again. Maybe it was just my imagination wanting to freak me out as far as it possibly could or maybe someone- or something- was throwing stuff at my window.
Ring- ring! The phone starts to ring and this startled me more than it should've, to the point where I actually grabbed my chest and exclaimed, "Jesus!". I realise where I was and why that probably wasn't the appropriate thing to yell so I clasp my hand over my mouth as I slide over the phone. I click the answer button and I'm greeted with the same female voice I heard last night.
"Hello there! I suppose that if you're hearing this then you survived the first night. Congrats! Not many people have managed to get past the first night so I'm impressed! You're definitely something else that's for sure..." The feminine voice says as she drifts off near the end of her sentence. I hear her mumble something quietly to herself before turning back to the phone again.
"Sorry about that. Where was I? Oh yeah. Uhh I've told you all about the animatronics haven't I?" She ends her sentence with a small sigh, "If you see Ross then could you tell me how he's doing? You see we used to be married before he was killed and the thing is, he was the first to be killed because he sacrificed himself for us and the rest of the Grumps. The only one who managed to get out there alive was me." I hear hitched breath on the other end of the call and then a sniff, "The funny thing is, Ross was one of those guys who would come across as an asshole but he was a really great guy. I love him and I just need to know if he's okay. Could you do that for me, please? I'm not sure on how you can tell me if you actually do want to help me out but I'm sure you can figure out a way."
"Anyway I suppose I should say something to lift up your spirit here so good luck and I hope to speak with you tomorrow! Night!" And with that, the call ended. Ross... wasn't he the one that was getting shouted at by Danny on the first night? If this Phone Lady was married to him then it shouldn't be too hard to figure out who she was. Unless she wants to remain anonymous because if she wanted me to know then she would've told me by now. I'll just wait and see I guess.
Two hours of mindless tapping, closing doors and flicking on flashlights goes by and at this point, it was almost three am. The animatronics were more active at this point of the night and I could see why I had been told that this night was a little harder than the first night but it wasn't that hard. I could hear eerie whispering coming from the other side of the door and then a loud cackle and I begin to feel freaked out again. I constantly check the time on my monitor but time seems to moving slower than usual-- or maybe it was just me. Wait; is there a computer in here? I scan the room looking for my answer until my eyes lay upon on an untouched laptop sitting idly on a shelf. I silently shift myself away from the door and shuffle over to the laptop. I press the on button and a loud starting menu sound blasts through the speakers. I panic and try to cover the speakers with my hands-- if they didn't know I was in here then they sure as hell did now.
Name: Egoraptor Weinerbarf
Password:"What the fuck," I whisper as I read the computer name. What would this guys password be? I randomly type in words until I figure out that 'butts' is the password. This guys real mature honestly. I decide to not look through the pictures on this laptop because I wasn't sure on what I would find. I open up Google Chrome only to see that there was no working wifi in this spot. I silently curse to myself at the thought of having to use my 3G while in here but then facepalm at the thought that there would be wifi in this place. I quietly close over the laptop and was about to return it to the shelf when I heard shuffling behind me.
"H-Hey buddy, th-that's my la-laptop," A voice says simply behind me, "but it-it's okay. I-I can't re-really use it-it anymo-re anyway. Rob-Robot hands, you kn-know?" I stare at the animatronic in shock and I see him facepalm, "Oh yeah we're supposed to be all 'ahhhh' and 'ooooo' right? Well if that's what you want then I guess I'll give you a head start but if I manage to catch you then you're mine, got it? Good. Now... go!" It takes me a few seconds to realise what was happening but as soon as I do, my legs began working again and I sprinted down the hallway as fast as I could. If I died tonight then I would just be another causality, wouldn't I? But I still can't get over 'Egoraptor Weinerbarf', I can't believe that's who would kill me.
I jump down the stairs two at a time as I hear the clunking of heavy metal feet get closer to me with every step I took. I didn't even have enough time to look at the time (ironic) so I made the rough estimate that it was near enough six am. If I could just hold out for a little longer then I would be in the clear for one more night at least. If I survive then maybe I could find out more about this Phone Lady and her connection to the Grumps apart from being Ross' wife.
"I'm gonna get you!" The robot sings as if almost taunting me. I wasn't sure on which one this one was so I decided to go with the name 'Egoraptor' just until I found out what his real name was.
"Aw c'mon stop run-running man. You're m-making this so difficult." He says in an almost defeated voice as the clunking get slower. I run into one of the open rooms and slam the door shut behind me, holding the handle of it up so it made it harder to open.
"You're no fun. Humph I'll let you off this time but next time, you won't be so--" the sound of the robot powering down cut him off mid-taunt and I was relieved to know it was six am. I could finally go home, get some rest and do some proper research.
