Preparation is key

Astrids POV:
After the energetic week at school, Peter and I realise we are yet to tell the rest of the avengers about our prom which is happening in a few days.

We enter the main living area and address the surrounding avengers "On Friday we have our prom..."

"good for you, i hope you have a nice time" Vision says happily.

"Sounds cool, do you need me to drive you?" Tony asks.

"Yeah that would be great Mr Stark thank you" Peter answers.

"You will look beautiful little one, but i need to talk to you. Can you come to the conference room with me?" Thor says making me feel good about myself

"Yeah of course lead the way" I reply.

"What did you need" I inquire.

Thor responds "Mother would like to see you - Can you go to Asgard as soon as possible?"

"Of course, can you call Heimdall because I am not trying to embarrass myself like that?"

"Yes" He snickers "come one we should go outside"

We go outside and he calls for Heimdall; as i am about to go he calls out to me saying "goodbye little one" to which i reply "goodbye brother".

After a magical trip that i am still not used to i arrive in my homeland.

I am greeted merrily and with open arms by the asgardians as i walk to my home.

"Mother?" I call out "Mother I am here, i have missed you greatly!"

All of a sudden my mum gracefully walks down the luxurious steps. I run to her with tears in my eyes giving her a massive hug. "I have missed you so much mum" i exhale.

"Not as much as i have missed you my darling Astrid" She returns.

"Go to your room, i have left a dress for you" she orders "I will host a lavish dinner for you"

After putting on this beautiful white mermaid shaped dress with netting and gems, I sit at the table.

Whilst people dish out my food i turn to mum to start a discussion.

"So where is da- i mean father tonight?" I have to call my parents their formal title (mother and father) when referencing them not in private.

"I believe he is away trying to make peace with one of the realms your sibling Loki has had a disagreement with." mum calmly states

"Oh okay, well onto better topics have you heard Loki and I have made up" I try to change the subject.

"I hear everything my darling. And i knew you would, it's inevitable you two always to make up with the help of Thor" She says smugly.

"Hear everything? Well did you hear that my school is hosting Prom on Friday?" I say trying to catch her out.

"Wow no, now that i was not informed. Are you going with anyone? Do you have a dress? Why is the prom being hosted? Did you know this is my first prom i've every had to deal with?" She rambles passionately

"You are excited aren't you. I am going with my friends: Ned, Mj and my best friend Peter, No i do not have a dress i was going to ask if you could help me get one, the prom is being hosted because it is almost the end of our final year in school and no i did not know you have never had experience with prom but i can tell now." I rush out running out of breath by the end of my dialogue.
