Chapter One

The summer sun was sinking as I soaked in the last of the rays. It was a long dreadful day, as per usual.

It had been a dreadful place to live. Ever since the divorce, things had changed dramatically. Dad moved to England for business and mom decided to move us to Illyria, Virginia and out of Verona, California.

I hate that I had to leave my friends. But that was nothing compared to how my twin brother Sawyer took it. He literally threatened the moving van guys lives when they packed everything up.

Having a girlfriend does that to a guy in love....

A shadow blocked my tanning. Sighing loudly I perched my sunglasses on my nose. It was the devil himself, Sawyer. The same guy who had been moping about the house all morning.

Except now, he looked even happier than usual. Which was odd...maybe I should call moms shrink and set him an appointment.

"Hello lovely sister." He smiled innocently, "Have I told you how beautiful you are Vivi?"

Raising my eyebrow I glared at him, "What is it Sawyer."

"I need a favor."

"Whatever it is, count me out." I grumbled laying back to catch my tan.

"Come on Vivi, I really need you." He said desperately.

Now this, was interesting.

Call me evil, whatever, but when Sawyer begs it really is a sight to see. I can only remember twice in my life I've seen my twin beg. I'll take every opportunity to revel in this moment.

"I'm interested...go on." I gesture for him to speed along the point.

"I need you to cover for me at school next month." He said.

"How the hell am I gonna do that? I'm going to Maddie Dale next month, remember?"

Unlike my brother who was going to a public school, I was being sent to an all girls boarding school all the way in Massachusetts. I finally made enrollment and I was set pack and leave in one months time.

"I know, but I really need to see Nicky." He said agitated. "She thinks that being apart means I'm going to cheat, and I really need to be with her Vivi. Please?"

"Trust me, if I could I would." I said honestly. "But what the hell am I gonna do? Go up to the school in my skirt and high heels and pass myself as Sawyer King. Then you come back as a guy?"

"I know it sounds stupid, but I was hoping we could figure something out. Plus I kinda need you to secure a spot on the team for me."

"Get real!" I snorted, "You want me to act like you?"

"Yeah. I mean you're really good at football if I remember correctly. You could pass as me and get me a spot as a kicker for the team. It's just for a month...two tops."

"You really aren't winning me over." I mumbled. "How am I going to look and act like a dude? And other than that, what about Maddie Dale? How do you explain me not being there. You know I'll have a roommate and I'm already enrolled. Mom is going to be expecting a report card."

"I'll figure it out." He said plainly.

"What about her? Mom is going to know automatically that you're gone and that I'm you. Have you thought of that?" I shot back.

"Relax, mom's going to Australia for the magazine and she'll be gone for a whole month." He said

"Really?" I didn't even know mom was going away. Well so much for good parenting.

Move us out of our home state. Move us to a strange new state, in a strange city, and leave your kids here for a month by themselves. Really, my mom is so fucking careless it's frustrating!

"Yeah, she's leaving the same day you're supposed to leave for Maddie Dale." He shrugs as if it's perfectly normal that both our parents are out of the country! I mean what family goes to three separate countries, on three separate continents!

That's crazy, right?

"If that's the case, then why can't Nicky just come here?" Yay for sensible Vivian!

"Because her parents actually care and don't want her to come over here." He said in a duh tone.

"I can't not go to Maddie Dale. What you're asking me to do is really selfish." I said.

If I know anything at all- and not to toot my own horn- but I do know a lot of things. I know that Sawyer really cares for me and wouldn't do anything to hurt me. Since the divorce, we've stuck side by side each other, vowing we were all the family we'd ever need.

"I know." He frowned, "But I really need to see her. I can't lose her too."

Jerk. Sawyer was really good at guilt tripping. What a bastard.

"I'll call Abbie Dale and say I'll be in England with dad for a month or two. I'm sure they'll hold my spot, I mean dad already paid the full tuition." I relented, "But in the meanwhile you have to help me....Dude up."

I grimaced as Sawyers face lit up like the fourth of july. "Vivi you're the greatest fucking twin ever! I don't care if you're a girl, I would rather have you as a twin than a boy." He cried out pulling me out of my chair and parading me around the pool like a ragdoll.

"I'm going to regret this aren't I?"
