"So where are you from?" Sophia asked.

"I just moved here from Verona California." I answered easily enough.

"Ooh is that like by L.A?" Marie asked eagerly.

"Kinda." I squirmed in my seat as she pressed closer to me, "It's sorta-hey do you mind not touching me there- it's an hour outside L.A, in a gated comm-Marie really I appreciate the effort, but I'm not in the mood- in a gated community." I swear if Marie kept touching me like that, Vivian was going to have to make an appearance and it won't be a pretty one!

"Marie keep your eager hands to yourself." Sophia giggled.

Marie blushed, wow what do you know, she can be bashful? "I have soccer practice, I should go." she mumbled before sulking away.

"Is she always...so friendly?" I dared to ask

"Pretty much." Sophia laughed and soon I found myself joining in. "So tell me, what are you doing all the way over here then? A guy doesn't simply move away from the fast life in L.A for a small suburb like Illyria." she mused.

"Well my parents divorced last spring, and it was pretty bad. Dad moved to England, and mom couldn't stand living in Verona with memories of their failed marriage." I answered in a very Sawyer way.

Bluntly and emotionless.

Sophia frowned, "Oh i'm so sorry." She touched my hand.

I think it was the fact that Sawyer was the only one I had talked to about this that made me feel utterly lonely. I had friends that knew, but never tried to talk about the divorce. Sawyer was the only one who understood.

But I liked that Sophia asked. She was a stranger and I didn't need her to understand. It was just nice she seemed like she cared enough to worry. So I squeezed her hand once and smiled.

"It's fine. My sister and I do fine on our own." I smiled, and I knew it was true. Sawyer and I only needed each other.

"You have a sister? I didn't hear about a new girl, does she go here?" Sophia asked perking up in her seat.

I laughed and shook my head, "No Vivian doesn't come to school here. She's actually in Massachusetts in a boarding school for fine arts."

Lie. All lies. Vivian is sitting right here chatting with Sophia. While the real Sawyer is across the country following behind his superficial girlfriend like a lost puppy.

"A boarding school? That sounds fun, what is she studying?" She asked.

Don't get fashion crazy, I reminded myself. I scoffed in Sawyers true nature, "Fashion. Proud of her, but I don't see the big fuss over fabrics. Guess it's a guy thing." I shrugged.

I think I just died a little inside.

"Well i'm a girl and I think it's awesome." She smiled. "What do your parents do?" She asked then frowned, "I'm sorry I don't mean to pry. You don't have to answer that."

Chuckling, I waved her off, "No it's fine, you're curious I understand. Mom is an editor for a music magazine. She's a board member for the magazine and works were she pleases, she's actually in Australia this month."

Sophia frowns, "And you're okay with that?"

"Yeah." I shrug, but mentally I'm saying Hell no!

"I'm sorry. It must suck being alone in a new town. What about your dad?" She asked quickly changing the subject poorly.

"He's a music producer and is actually working with Coldplay right now." I said.

"OH MY GOD NO WAY! COLDPLAY?!!? ARE YOU FUCKING PULLING MY LEG!" Sophia yelled catching quite a few people's eyes.

"Yeah. It's really not a big deal. His line of work is pretty boring if you ask me."

"Okay, I thought you were cool before, but now you're like god status. How can you be so nonchalant? Your mom is a magazine editor who's in Australia, your sister is a fashion student at a fine arts school, and your dad is a famous music producer in England."

"You get used to this kind of stuff." I shrug.

"You don't just get used that kind of stuff." She cried out, "Sawyer you are freaking awesome!"

Sawyer awesome? No. But he could be with my help....

"Thanks Sophia. I'll text you after tryouts then?" I said after Sophia and I had spent the whole day together. Luckily she was in most of my classes.

"Of course, good luck Sawyer." She smiled then turned to leave.

I stepped onto the field in my baggy t-shirt and sweatpants. It was hot, but I was not gonna go shirtless! I mean it took me twenty minutes to tape my boobs down.

I don't even want to know how long it'll take for me untape myself. Nor do I want to imagine how it'll feel.

"Alright ladies line up!" The coach yelled before blowing his whistle. "I see a lot of you want to join Illyria's finest and be a Panther. But we have to see who'll survive tryouts today. I'll let the team captain and star quarterback Blake Orton take over."

Blake...the one I can't have, will be the one deciding whether I make the team or not. This could end either really badly, or amazingly awesome.

"Alright bitches." He smirked, as I frowned. Yeah his attractive meter went way down!

I mean, I know we're all guys and it's a term of humor, but I hate that word! I don't like when girls are being called that. And i'm all about equal rights, so I don't like it used on guys either.

Especially if i'm one of the guys!

I guess I'm just not a big fan of the B-word. It's degrading to anybody. But I pushed back my urge to roll my eyes and focused on Blake.

Though his talking only kept my attention for so long. My eyes lingered on his body a little too long. His raven hair was messy, his blue eyes held a mischievous glint, and his bod was fit!

He only wore gym shorts and muscle t-shirt with the number 05 inscribed on it.

"We'll start with some simple conditioning. Yard sprints beginning with the ten yard line and ending with the fifty. You'll have five second rests for that one." he barked out pulling me out of my insanely perverted reverie.

I heard a few groans but I smiled. I was good with sprinting. I had the agility and endurance of the energizer bunny!

At least that's what Sawyer used to say as kids. Before switch a twin I didn't do much exercising...I was more of an indoors kind of girl after I quit football.

"Then we'll cool down with a hundred pushups followed by a hundred situps." he continued as a slow smirk plastered on my face.

Easy peasy!

"Finally we'll do twelve minute burpees and see if any of you can beat my ninety burpee record." Blake smiled smugly before blowing the whistle and began.

This is what I used to live for Blake, you have no idea!
