Chapter 10 - Betrayal

Her eyes fluttered open to the sound of the birds chirping. She had slept really well last night with the comfort of her friends. Today she had another Dumbledore's army class to teach with Harry. They were going to teach the students how to conjure a Patronus. Harry and her are the only people in their year who have conjured it before.

She got up and got dressed in her robes, and headed across the school to the room of requirement. She opened the doors to be greeted by Harry, Ron and Hermione.

'Bella!' Hermione exclaimed hugging her dear friend. Both of them were the smartest witches in their age. That's why both of hem respected each other so much.

'Bella, so today i can explain how to conjure it and do you want to demonstrate? Then we can go around helping everyone one by one. '

Bella nodded enthusiastically. As more and more students secretly entered the room the lesson began

'So today our main focus is how to conjure a Patronus. To do this, think of all your happy memories and anything that makes you happy, then flick your wand and shout, Expecto Patronum. An animal that represents you should come running out of your wand.'

'Expecto Patronum!' Bella shouted as a newbling cat came out and ran across the room.

All of the students watched in aw at this spell.

Just as Bella and Harry were coming around to assist the students, the door to the room blasted open. Revealing Draco, Crabbe, Goyle, Pansy and other Slytherins.

Draco and Bella's eyes locked for a few seconds both exchanging confused glances at each other.

Draco's expression changed from pain to determination as he blasted Ron across the room with a stunning spell.

As most of the students fled, Hermione and Harry took their wands out instantly and began dueling the Slytherins. The Weasley Twins, Neville, Cho, Harper, Luna and Ginny stayed back to duel.

'Draco?' Bella panted feeling betrayed. 'How could you?'

Tears started to fill Draco's eyes as he shot a serious charm at Bella. One that she taught him and specifically told him not to use.

'Malfoy! You'll pay for that!' shouted Hermione, 'That could of killed her!'

Bella woke up with an excruciating pain in her rib cage as she breathed unevenly. She was tied to a chair in Umbridge's office. All the rest of the students were tied up too.

'Well done Draco,' Umbridge said calmly. 'You did good.'

'Let us go you piece of shit!' shouted Bella, surprising everyone around her including herself. Umbridge turned to her, examining her bleeding rib. She raised her wand dangerously at her, 'Bella!' shouted Harry.

A hand grabbed Umbridge's arm stopping her. It was Draco. He was standing in between, protecting Bella. 'Don't hurt her Professor.' he said firmly

Bella kicked him in the shin while still tied up in her chair. 'I don't need you to defend me Malfoy. You have betrayed me. You're a bitch, I don't need you to act all soft around me and pretending, you shitty player.'

Bella's face was red and hot tears running down her face, 'I would rather have her spell hit me and hurt me more than have you defending me.'

The whole room was silent as Draco looked more hurt than ever. 'If only you understood Bella, if you could see this from my point of view.' He whispered as he left the room.

Bella lowered her gaze from everyone staring at her.

Suddenly Dumbledore appeared which made Umbridge jump in surprise.

'Albus, it appears you have made this club to overthrow Fudge as minister. This means you have to resign as Headmaster.' Umbridge said crisply.

'I already told you this was my idea, we just named it that,' Harry protested.

'No Harry, I take full responsibility for my actions,' Dumbledore lied. 'I will leave Hogwarts, but first, i need to help few of my students from your orders, they were unjustfully injured.'

He turned to Bella and gave her a warm smile, 'Ossio Dispersimus.' he said and with a flick of his wand, Bella could feel her rib cage healing back together. She grunted as there was a little bit of pain.

'Thank you, Professor,' she said gratefully.

And with a twinkle in his eye, he vanished.

After Dinner Draco headed up to the room of requirement to think about everything that happened today. He opened the door slowly and to his surprise Bella was in there as well. She made the room a star gazing room, with the roof clear and the night sky visible.

As soon as she saw him, here green eyes furrowed with frustration as she stood up and walked past him, wanting to leave.

'Bell, please wait.' Draco pleaded.

'We are not on a first name basis anymore. Malfoy. And I have nothing to say.'

She slammed the door in his face as she stormed out angrily.

Draco sighed as he kicked the ground in anger. The one person he truly loved now hates him more than ever. Bella made him truly happy, with her understanding, her humour, her laugh, her smile, her face, her sarcasm, her confidence and her compassionate nature.

An he just ruined everything they could of had together. He lay down in the exact spot Bella was sitting and looked up at the stars. Out of the corner of his eye he saw a diary with Bella's name on it.

He opened it slowly, not sure what to expect. She was writing on this a minute ago, writing everything that happened today.

'Draco, that one boy I couldn't understand for for a full 5 years. I thought he was rude, arrogant and has no heart at all. Well, it turns out he was the only one there for me during hard times. I looked forward to tutor him everyday, just to see his face. His misty grey eyes put me in some sort of trance, some sort of spell. I wanted him so bad. But today, he betrayed our trust, he attacked me and was working for Umbridge all along. I never thought he would do that. I thought I meant something more to him than just a tutor, I didn't know what his intentions were when we kissed yesterday. This Slytherin, he means the world to me. Draco.'

Draco's eyes went wide. His heart beat faster than ever before. He had hope now. He had to make things right again.
