Chapter 17 - Another Year

Her hair was dead straight, it lost its shine and curls. Her eyes weren't a deep sapphire blue, they were washed out. Her skin was pale. It the the affect of the dark mark. Who she saw in the mirror wasn't the girl she was. She really did look like a death eater.

Bella's POV

I got on the train trying to look as lively as possible. I slid open the cabinet door to my friend group's cabin and they all immediately looked worried.

'Hey, Bell' Harper said standing up immediately. 'Are you okay?'

'Yeah, yeah. I'm fine. Just tired.'

Peter and Ben both gave me huge hugs. 'Bella, we're always here for you,' Ben said.

'I love you guys,' I said a tear streaming down my face.

'Bells, why are you crying?' Cho asked hugging me tighter than anyone.

'I, I've just been through a lot these holidays.' I said, hesitating.

'Oh, My Gosh!' Cho started, 'Did Draco dump you?!'

Harper then stood up, cracking her knuckles. 'If he did, he better watch out cause I'm gonna...'

'No, everything between him and I are fine. It's just other stuff. Don't worry about it.'

Peter smiled, still unsure what to believe.

'Um, guys.' Harper said, 'I wanted to tell you... I've been seeing someone!' she blurted out.

We all sat there, our eyes wide open. 'WHO??' we all asked at once.

'Neville,' she whispered, blushing. 'I really like him. He's so sweet and shares my passion for herbology.'

'Awww Harperrr!!' we all teased.

Suddenly I found my happiness, but only for a split second, until some kind of dark force was pulling me back, preventing me. It was like I could never feel happiness again

'Um, excuse me,' I whispered and walked out of the cabinet.

The hallway was empty, other than one platinum blonde Slytherin in a full on black suit. He turned around and immediately had a frown on his face once he saw the condition i was in. I didn't want him to know now i was a death eater.

Draco's POV

I turned around to see my Bella, but she was different, nothing like what she was like back at Malfoy Manor with me. It's like the life has been sucked out of her.

'Bella,' I said wrapping my arms around her, 'Are you okay.'

'Yea, I'm fine,' she said monotonously.

'Bell, obviously something's wrong, and you need to tell me. What happened at your parents house?' I questioned.

'I can't say,' she replied hugging me tighter.

I sighed, 'It's okay, but remember whatever happens, I'll always be there for you.'

'I, I love you Draco.' She whispered.

Draco's POV

Her hands wrapped around my neck as she kissed me tenderly.

Something was going on. But also in my life as well. Voldemort assigned me a mission to open the vanishing cabinet so the death eaters could come and invade Hogwarts and kill the Headmaster. I can't do it, and I'm in pain. But I don't want Bell to know that, seeing that she has something going on in her life.

But the two of us knew one thing, this year at Hogwarts wasn't going to be like any other.
