"Haa... Haa..." I huffed heavily, trying to catch my breath. Damn, I didn't think this through enough. I should've at least stolen some money from their bedroom. I glanced at the bruised knuckles on my hand that rested against the wall. I scrunched my face, finally accepting how much it really hurt, "Ouuch..."

Yeah, I should've done this tomorrow. I was just too overwhelmed. I hate them. I hate them.

I shook the thought off my head, and paid attention to my surroundings. In front of me, was another alley with a door open. Red, blue, purple, green lights seemed to be inside– wherever that door led to. Looking at the sign on the building, I found out it was a nightclub.

Maybe if I manage to steal a wallet...

I ran towards there, looking at both sides of the road before crossing, and successfully sneaking in. The music was louder than I expected. A lot of noise too, especially when a bunch of people were jumping, heels hitting the floor every second. I barely managed to hear my own inside voice, if that was possible.

Laughter, screams, wine glasses being clinked, and women sitting on top of men with drinks on their hand. The worst part is that the place had the stench of alcohol, which I already smelled enough at home.

God, and the air conditioners that are supposedly on, aren't really doing their job. Okay then, before anyone notices that I'm here, I have to get cash. Not that if they notice me, it'll be a problem. I could just fight them off.

After all... my father taught me 'self-defense.'

My eyes caught a glimpse of what seemed like an open purse sitting on the red couch. Everyone else nearby was distracted with their conversations and their dancing. Now's my chance.

I reached over there, and outstretched my arm to grab the visible dark blue wallet inside.

That was before a hand grabbed it before I did. I faced to see who it belonged to, and found a boy almost my age with black hair in disarray– staring back at me. His eyes bulged, "Oh, were you going to take this?" He shouted with a hand next to his mouth to amplify his voice.

"Yes, I was!" I shouted back, watching him look behind me and then back to my eyes. He waved the wallet in his hand as a smirk formed in his lips, "Then come and get it" In a matter of seconds, he sprinted off to another exit I didn't know off, probably where he came from.

I cursed him in my whispers and chased after him. Yeah, it was impossible for people not to notice us now, so I realized why the boy looked behind me earlier. I had 2 angry bodyguards going after me, yelling to stop– as if that would work. My legs continued to move on their own and followed the boy through the almost empty streets. It was just cars passing by, beeping or parking. He turned to an alleyway: Crime Alley.

I came to a halt once I realized I've lost him. Isn't that great? Now I'm left with these 2 guys with sunglasses to deal with. However, before deciding to take them on myself, from the corner of my eye, I saw the boy hiding behind the door of a building. He beckoned with his hand and told me to keep quiet.

Obviously, without thinking, I ran inside. He closed the door after I entered and kept his index finger on his lips, while his other hand was on the wall next to my head.

I don't know if I was feeling hot because of all that running, or because he was inches close to my face. I silently gulped and turned away.

"Damn, where did they go?"

"Shit, those bastards. They've got some balls to go inside the club and steal"

"How did they even get inside?"
