"Can you put this on?" Someone said while simultaneously handing me a knee length dress with nude kitten heels. I forced a smile and nodded, grabbing the garments and stepping behind the privacy screen.

I stepped out of my comfortable travel clothes and into the stiff, form fitting dress and heels. I had only arrived 20 minutes ago and instead of the calm, exciting greeting I had been expecting, I had been ushered to a chair and prepped for an interview I had no idea about.

I walked out, and was met with oohs and ahhs.

"Do you want your hair up or down?" A stern lady asked, picking up a tendril of my hair in disgust.

"Umm, i guess we can have it up," I shrugged. She smiled and waved her hand, I guess I made the right choice.

Two girls came over and began gentle strokes on my hair with a silver brush. The movement was intoxicating and sent shivers of joy down my spine. Too soon they were done, and yanked my hair into submission, tying it into an elegant knot. As I looked into the mirror, I looked beautiful, but I did not look at myself. I forced another smile and thanked the maids as they swarmed around me with eager faces.

"Can I have my bride to be?" Drake's voice echoed across the marble floor.

A real grin broke across my face and I nearly flew across the room and into his arms. "Hi!" I grinned up at him.

"Someone is excited to see me!" He rubbed gentle circles into my arm. "We need to leave for the interview before Father has a conniption."

My excitement faltered as I realized I would have to speak live on television. I waved goodbye to the maids and followed Drake through the doors and into another car.

"Why didn't you tell me about the interview on the plane?"

Drake shrugged, "I didn't want you to be overwhelmed, I know you overthink things."

I shook my head at him. "I know you were trying to be nice, but don't keep me out of the loop,, I like to know things."

"Of course, I'll keep that in mind for the future."

He answered me, but I watched as he then pulled out his phone and began scrolling through something. I crossed my arms and turned to look out the window, feeling a little ignored. I knew Drake would get busy, I mean he is the future king of this country, but he could at least try and include me.

We arrived at the television set, surrounded by our myriad of guards. I watched Drake stroll in front of me with confidence that left me in awe. With each step we took, my nerves bundled more into each other. As we entered through the door of the studio, I crept up next to Drake and slid my hand in his, leaning my head on his shoulder. He looked down at me.

"You okay?"

I looked up at his concerned expression. "I'm just nervous, I haven't done this before!"

He nodded, wrapping his arm around my shoulder and tightening his grip on my hand.

"Hello, your majesties!" A preppy voice caused me and Drake to both look in its direction. It belonged to a young girl who wore a pencil skirt that left nothing to the imagination. I watched as Drake released my hand to shake hers. I smiled as he quickly grabbed my hand again.

"Hello," I smiled at her, giving her a small wave with my free hand.

She gave me a weird look before using her hand to point us in the right direction. "Right this way then."

We followed her into a small area on the floor that had two couches facing each other with a camera aimed at both of them. "Recording starts in two minutes, all I'm going to do is ask a couple of questions then leave the floor open for anything you want to say."

"Sounds perfect, thanks Shirly!" Drake and I both sat down on a couch and Shirly sat down on the other, flipping through a clipboard of papers.

Drake straightened his suit, while I just closed my eyes and began to take deep breaths.

"10.... 9... 8.... 7..." The countdown began.

"You'll be great!" Drake whispered in my ear. I grinned back.

"3...2...1.... We are Live!"

"So, Prince Drake, please introduce us to our future queen."

Drake chuckled beside me, "Of course, this is Emily, we just got engaged a few days ago." He placed a hand on my knee.

"And why are we just meeting her now?" She turned to look at me and I could tell the camera was zooming in on my face. A blush started to tint my cheeks.

"I was living in America, I only found out about all of this a little before you guys did."

She smiled. "Oh wow, and how did you react?"

I was starting to get more comfortable with the camera. "Ummm, it was the most startling thing that could ever happen to anyone, and I feel like the luckiest person in the world. Still it's not a responsibility I take lightly."

"Well i can't wait to hear more about this," Shirly faced the camera, "And for the viewers at home, we are planning an exclusive with Princess Emily so you fall in love with her as much as Prince Drake has."

"Cameras off!"

Drake grabbed my forearm and planted a kiss on my palm. "You did amazing, Em."

"That was a lot shorter than I thought it would be!" We both stood up and with a final wave goodbye to Shirly, left, concluding my first interview.
