He Is Not My Boyfriend...
I snuck downstairs, trying not to make the stairs creak under the weight of my foot. I actually got up early today and curled my hair. I wanted to look nice since Drake would accompany me to school today. I still have no idea how he managed to make my principal agree to him going for only a few weeks but Drake just shrugged with a smile when I asked him.
I wanted to grab some food from the fridge before I finished getting ready for school, but my dad was sleeping on the couch and I did not want to wake him. I was on the bottom step about to creep across the living room when a voice startled me.
"Hey Em, good morning!"
"Whaaaaaa," I shrieked as I spiraled to the ground with a loud thud.
"Oh are you okay?" Drake asked, genuine concern flitting across his face. I accepted his outstretched hand and stood up, rubbing my now aching bottom.
"Yeah you just startled me, I was gonna grab some food." Drake let out a very pleased smile as his eyes gave a mischievous twinkle.
"Here follow me, I think I can help you." Drake turned sharply around and headed to the kitchen, me following awkwardly behind, unsure of what he had in mind.
When we reached the kitchen I let out a small gasp, piled high on the counter were plates of bacon, pancakes, and eggs. I was not sure if I was more surprised at how much food was currently sitting on my counter, or the fact that my dad was sitting on island with a plate of heaping food stuffing it into his mouth.
"D-Did you make all of this?"Knowing my dad would never do this, I turned to Drake with my hands on my hips. He nodded at me, pushing a plate into my hands and urging me to eat. I piled a small amount of bacon, eggs, and one pancake on my plate, the steam spreading warmth into the air.
Drake ate with me and we both cleaned up the dishes after, singing Disney songs loudly and slightly off key. Once we finished I grabbed my backpack, pulled on some combat boots, and made my way outside with Drake on my heels.
"Sorry but we have to take the bus," I declared, starting to walk in the direction of the bus stop.
"No we don't!" I stopped in my tracks, turning around to see Drake swinging a set of black keys from his lanky fingers. He hit a button that opened our garage, a sleek Bentley peeking from behind its door.
"Woah that can't be yours, exactly how rich is your dad?" Drake laughed at me before opening the passenger door for me.
"Would you do me the honor of driving the most amazing girl in the world to school?" I shrieked and skipped over, sliding into the seat and running my hands over the smooth black leather. Drake walked over to the drivers seat and got in, revving the engine before pulling away, a slight smile still lingering on his face.
After I had gotten over my excitement that I was riding to school in a freaking Bentley, my mind began to drift back to Drake. I know he told me that his family was wealthy but I only met his Father when I was younger, apparently we used to visit a lot before I turned ten. I didn't remember much of his house.
We drove for a while as the radio gently played 90s pop in the backround until Drake interrupted our silence. "Are you excited to come back with me?" I nodded as he pulled into our schools parking lot.
"Yeah I just am a little nervous to meet your father again." I confessed. Drake pulled into a spot next a black pickup truck, students eyeing us with confusion. He turned to me.
"Don't be, my father loves you, sometimes I think more than me." I let out a giggle. "Stay there, ill come get your door." Drake stepped out before adjusting his waist length trench coat, coming around the vehicle he opened My door and extended a hand. I slipped my hand into his, his fingers clamping around mine as he pulled me onto my feet. That is how we walked into school, me ignoring the jealous eyes coming from the girls and the confused looks of most of the guys. Some of them were just oblivious to the new student.
"Oh my Goodness, you didn't tell me you had a boyfriend!" Willow bounced beside me as I stopped at my locker, Drake still lingering beside me. "And such a cutie, where can I get one?"
"France," I mumbled under my breath to Drake. He let out a hearty laugh as Willow gave us a confused look. "We aren't dating by the way, this is my Best friend that I told you about." I shrugged, tugging more books from my backpack and shoving them into my locker.
"Sure," she smirked, "Did you see the looks the Means were giving you though, I heard you guys drove here in a Bentley." I turned back to look at Willow, her tan skin shimmering under the light. I was not surprised she knew about the Bentley, Willow knew everything that happened in this school.
"Yeah, Drake owns it." I blushed as he stepped closer to me once I said his name.
"Willow come here and see what Jenny did to the girls bathroom," A freshmen padded over, pulling Willow away.
"Talk more at lunch!" she yelled as she was pulled behind another group of kids. We both laughed before the morning bell rang, announcing the start of the school day.
"Oh shoot, what classes are you doing?" I asked with a frown.
"I'm in all of your classes actually, I am with you all day." Drake looked at me, my heart melting at how cute he looked standing next to my locker.
"Oh well lets hurry then, my first class is Basic Science in room 104." He gave me a smile and I shook off his cuteness before we half walked, half ran, down the hallways rushing past other students trying to get to their classes as well.
