It was a dark and stormy night. I was taking a walk in the rain, like I always do, on rainy nights like this. I'm thinking about my cousin Lila and how she died only two days ago on her 15th birthday. I feel so sorry for her, I just wonder how it happened. I wasn't paying a tension and I walked right into a small maple tree. That snapped me out of the thoughts of my 15 year old cousin. I decided to turn around and go home after hitting the small tree. All of a sudden someone covered my eyes with their, cold cold, hands. I panicked and grabbed one of their hands and tried to flip the person. It didn't work out. Turns out the person was my frenemy Jason Merk. He was the most popular guy in the school and I don't like him one bit, but there was that time when we were friends before he became popular. He smiled at me and I just wanted to run but he kept a firm grip on my arm.

"What do you want Jason." I stated with a frown.

"Why do think I want something?" Said Jason.

"Whenever you come to me you want something that I can't get."

"When has that ever happened."

"Well lets see.." Then Jason covered my mouth.

"Okay I get it Brooke I come to you a lot." Finally he uncovered my mouth after he was done talking.

"So what do you want?" I said anxiously.

"Nothing." He stated.

"What!? Then why did you sneak up on me?"

"I was just walking and I saw you, over here, so I decided to come talk to you."

"Okay then..... well I seriously have to go now!" I kind of said my now a little louder then I had wanted to.

"Okay then." Jason said. But he didn't let go of arm and it was getting me very paranoid, since I wanted to go.

"Um...Jason can you let go of my arm. Or are you going to walk me to my house." I said sarcastically.

"Ohh... sorry I was just thinking. No Brooke, I'm not going to walk you home." He said panicky and he then dropped my arm and I felt the warm come back a little. He turned the other way and started walking away from me. I decided that I wasn't going to watch him walk away like the girls do in the movies. So I started walking back to my house instead.

I walked up the wet sidewalk that came up to my house. And went straight to the door and knocked because I did not remember to take any keys with me. So I knocked on the door and waited for my mom to come an answer it.

"Who is it?" Said my Mom's cheery voice.

"It's your daughter Brooke." I stated to her.

"Okay I'll be there in a minute." I then heard her footsteps as she walked to the door and opened it for me very quickly.

"Thanks Mom."

"Your welcome Brooke."

After that little conversation I headed to my room to change into something dry. So I put on my favorite worn out navy blue tee shirt and a pair of Dr.Pepper pajama pants. After that I jumped onto my bed and grabbed a random book. The book was called Breathless by Scott Prussing. I read the back of the book very quickly.

College freshman Leesa Nyland has been fascinated by vampires since she was three years old. That's when her mom started acting weird, refusing to go outside during the day and insisting the sunlight hurt her skin because she had been bitten by a one-fanged vampire...

But fascinated doesn't mean Leesa believes-any more than she believes in blue fire, people who live for centuries, and kisses that can kill. When her beloved older brother suddenly disappears, she is forced to confront all these and more.

She must also decide what to do about her mysterious new boyfriend. She knows Rave likes her a lot-so why won't he kiss her?

It sounded good so I set the book under my fluffy pillow and I turned off the light and went into a fitful sleep.
