Chapter 9

After walking into the school we went right by our light blue and grey lockers. The lockers are the school colors we are the dangerous dolphins. And we were starting to talk about my ride to school but before we could talk the bell rang and saved my life. So Melody and I went to homeroom. We must have got there at the right time because Jason wasn’t in the classroom which was a score for me I just wanted to stay away from him for the rest of the day. But like the dog that he is he followed my scent and walked right into the classroom two minutes later. Its a love hate relationship between the both of us, some days I want to punch him until he says uncle and other days I want to be nice to him which does not happen much. He walked over to us and said.

“Hello Melody!” He said happily. And then turned to me “Brooke.” He said disappointed.

“Yes hello to you to Jason it’s nice to see your cheerful smile on such a happy Friday morning!” Said a excited Melody. Those words did not sound like the Melody that I know shes more of a keep it short sentence kind of girl. She elbowed me as to say -say something don’t leave me to the conversation- so I said something.

“Hey Jason nice to see you again.”

“Yeah nice to see you too.”

“So whats going on between you two?” Asked Melody.

“What! There’s nothing going on between us, Melody. That would just be weird, right” I said as I elbowed him in the rib cage.

“Right!” He choked out.

“Okay just making sure cause the...” I put my hand over Melody’s mouth to keep her from talking.

“What do you want that you came over here for. If you came for her..” I looked at the trying to still talk Melody. “You can take her if you want.”

“No I did not want to take her. But I want to talk to you.”

“Well couldn’t you have talked to me in the car.”

“Yes I could’ve but I just didn’t know how to say it.”

“Let me guess you know now.”

“Yes I do. So….”

“Fine we can talk, but as far away from her...” I looked at Melody sternly. “As possible.”

“Okay just let me ask the teacher if we could go out in the hall.” And he left. I was grateful that he had left, but disappointed that he would come back to take me out into the hallway to talk. Two minutes later he was back standing in front of me giving me a face as to say let’s get going. So I stood up from my spot and walked into the hall with him.

“So what do you want to talk about?” I said impatiently while tapping my foot.

“I want to tell you that I…..Love! your outfit!” He said like he was hiding something.

“Why thank you.” After that I turned cold. “I know you are trying to hide something I can see it in your eyes Jason, they say that you are mysterious.”

“How do you know that?”He asked.

“I want to be a spy, I need to learn things quickly and easily. I’ve learned from the best.” I said pationetly.

“Let me guess your brother.”

“No way! So tell me, honestly, what you were going to tell me.” I asked carefully.

“Well I can’t tell you here come over tonight and I’ll tell.”

“Fine!”

“Come over at five and you can have supper with my family if you would like.”

“Okay I will see you then.” I said with rolled eyes. And then  I headed into the classroom. When I sat I felt like someone was staring at me, I turned to see that it was Jason but I just turned away and talked to Melody. I knew that Cece was not going to be happy when I would leave to go to Jason’s since she had something to tell me but I can’t think about the future when I am in the present. But the next thing I was going to learn was exciting, frightening, and that I might never see the world as I know it anymore.
