A few months had passed since you came back from England. In the end you did choose to join the order, and it was now your and Charlies job to recruite new members for the order from outside of britain. It wasn't always easy to know who you could trust or not, but you had both found a few people that you could trust with the information.

As for other things, nothing had really changed, but that wasn't a bad thing. Work was enjoyable, you were currently watching over the new hatchlings, you know, checking up if everything was ok with them and all, though you couldn't get too close to them always as the mother did keep an watchfull eye on them. You did get bit by one of the dragon babies once, and what you found strange was that the bite mark didn't look too different from the one Fluffy the three headed dog had given you all those years ago. You did get poisoned though, but got it treated right away, so no, it wasn't a near death experience exactly.

Other than that, Charlie didn't work himself to death anymore, and would always come back home after his hours had ended, which gave you lots of time together. The first few months, you and Charlie would explore around Romania on your time off, but as the months passed on you would explore less, not because you were bored of it, but because you just felt like staying at home some nights. Things were going pretty well, but one night, a few days before christmas, Charlie got an unexpected letter from his mother, explaining that his father had been attacked.

It was currently three am, and neither of you had said a word as Charlie was pacing back and forth in your living room. He had been trying to write some letters, to who, you didn't know, but he didn't seem to know what to write, while you sat on the sofa holding a cold cup of tea in your hands.

"Charlie?" You carefully tried to get his attention, but he didn't seem to have heard you.

You put the cup down and got up from the sofa, being very careful not to make any sudden moves and walked closer to where Charlie was pacing. You didn't say anything, but instead waited for him to notice you, something that actually took a good few secounds, until he almost walked into you.

"(Y/n)!" He looked started, but gave you the best smile he could.

"Charlie..." you started, and put a hand on his shoulder. "Do you need any help writing that letter?" You softly asked him while gesturing to the almost blank paper that was lying on the table.

"No... no it's fine." He didn't say anything for a little while, only standing there, twirling a piece of your hair between his fingers. "You should go get some sleep." He quietly said, still holding the piece of your hair.

"I can't sleep knowing that you're not ok." You said. You looked at the hair he was holding while earning a small chuckle from him. "We'll leave first thing tomorrow, but right now there's really nothing we can do." Your eyes met for a small secound, but Charlie looked down and gave a small nod.

"Yeah..." It looked like he wanted to say more, but nothing came.

"I'm sure he'll be ok." Truth to be told, you weren't sure if his father would be ok or not, but right now you felt that Charlie needed some reassureance instead of your doubt. Charlie didn't say anything at first.

"You really sure about that?" He finally said, seeming unsure himself.

"Yeah, he's survived seven kids, so I think he'll come out just fine." You added in a joking manner, something Charlie needed as he instantly seemed to get in a better mood. He wasn't overjoyed, but at least he laughed a little at what you said. "We both should try and get some sleep." You said. "We've got a long day ahead of us, and we need at least a few hours of sleep before we leave." Charlie gave an understanding nod.
