It was a total information overload for Brogan and Ione.

Here they are, they just met, they found out that they are both Mythara, they both have gryphon Ewynne and their parents must have had some sort of friendship with each other because they can tactophren each other. What are the odds?

"Where will you be going?" Ione said, seeing me start to pack up the tent.

"I'm travelling, looking for the homeland of the Mythara. My sister is supposedly over there. It's a long story, I'll tell you some other time," Brogan replied, his head somewhere in the clouds.

"I'll come with you!" Ione said, a little too loudly and much too soon.

"What? I just met you...."

"I've been wanting something to do! This will be wonderful!" Ione interrupted.

"But it's dangerous and plus you're a..." Brogan started to say.

"Don't you dare say that, Brogan! I'm Mythara, perfectly capable of taking care of myself. Plus I'd like to hear this story of yours."

Brogan groaned inwardly. First of all, she was a girl and he had no idea how to act in front of her, being away from civilization for so long. Secondly, he just met her and had no idea who she was. For all he knew, she could be one of the Mythara's enemies. And lastly, she was so pretty he couldn't concentrate one bit.

He had never liked a girl before, much less seen one with the exception of his sister, and this was a completely new feeling for him. In those last seven years travelling, Tanwyn had taught Brogan almost everything she knew, from close combat to being in love.

"Fine, fine! Come with us then!" Brogan said, a little too eagerly and forgetting he was supposed to not want her to come because he was embarassed. He paused. "What about your family? Don't you have school or something?"

Ione scowled at him and snapped, "They're dead, punk-head. How else would I be wandering out here in the middle of nowhere during school hours?"

"I'm sorry, I didn't know. You see, I've been away from people from so many years...since i was six. I don't know much about the world."

Ione sighed, kicking aside a pebble and sending a small cloud of puff in Dyrmian's direction. "I shouldn't have yelled at you. It's just... a touchy subject for me. Kay?" She helped shove the tent canvas into a similar material backpack.

"Got it. We'd better get going. Fly or no fly?" Brogan left the choice to Ione.

"What?" She frowned, puzzled.

"On our Ewynne! It's much faster. You've flown before, haven't you?"

"Wha?? No, uh, never."

"But how do you get around then?"

I fly and she runs. She's Mythara, extreme athletic powers come with the package. Dyrmian answered.

"Oh! Then, should I run with you?" Brogan asked awkwardly.

"If you'd like," Ione answered nonchalantly.

Will I be able to keep up with you? Tanwyn asked Dyrmian.

For all my bulk and muscle, it doesn't help me with flying. I fly the same pace a your-sized gryphon would.

Tanwynn nodded. So let us set off now! Dyrmian, where were you and Ione born?

Homeland of the Mythara, Dyrmian answered.

Good! Then you will know the way there?

Yes.

So you don't need to follow me. Alright then, we must go.

With a great gust of wind, the gryphons soared off into the sky, leaving Ione and Brogan together on the forest floor.

"Ready?" Ione asked.

"Yes, let's go- Wait, wait!" Brogan exclaimed quickly as Ione started forward. "I don't know how to tap into Mythara athletic powers yet! How do you do it?" He berated himself inwardly for sounding like a child.

Ione laughed, a sweet sound which caused Brogan to go into a state of non-concentrating wonder. "Just follow me and you'll end up naturally bringing them out. Quick the gryphons are getting ahead of us! We must start at the same time in case I accidentally go too fast and lose you, kay?"

"Got it. Ready? Go!" Brogan yelled.

He pushed his body forward and took off after Ione, who had already gone ahead. The trees seemed like a blur as they sped up. Brogan had never run so fast in his life! His boots seemed to barely touch the ground. They skimmed over the earth as though they were as light as air. Wind tore through his hair and he gave a shout of glee, followed by a laugh from Ione.

Does that yell mean you want to speed up? Ione tactophrened him.

Yes!!

Their legs moved faster than ever and soon they were almost running at the speed of light. Brogan suddenly realized he wasn't breathing and immediately stopped, causing him to somersault and crash into a tree. Dazed, he got up and massaged his bruised arm.

Ione was instantly at his side. What's wrong? She tactophrened, sending waves of concern over.

He felt embarassed at her concern but brushed it away quickly, but not quick enough before she felt his thoughts. She frowned at him but didn't say anything.

"I'm alright, I'm alright. Where's our location?" Brogan asked outloud.

We're nearing the forest surrounding the homeland of the Mythara. I've never flown so fast in my life, Brogan! It's amazing and Dyrmian is telling me the actual extent of our powers! It's incredible! Tanwyn tactophrened excitedly.

Brogan laughed. "Yes! We're finally going home!"
