To Catch a Pokémon Smuggler

Selene's POV

The gang and I were walking down a path when suddenly, Ash stopped."Hm. Wonder what that noise was?" I put a hand to my ear and I thought I made out wheels moving. "I hear something too. Sounds like wheels, but I can't really tell." The others told us that they didn't hear anything, when I saw a truck speeding at us. "Everyone, move!!" I pushed Serena and Bonnie off to the side, while Zeraora got Clemont, Ash and Pikachu. I managed to catch a glimpse of the driver and a Diggersby. "That was close." Ash commented, I nodded my head in agreement. "That guy seemed to be in a hurry wondered why." "Out of the way!!" I turned around and saw Officer Jenny and a Manetric, on a motorcycle. "If Officer Jenny is after that guy.." Serena started. "Then that man is a wanted criminal." Clemont finished. "There could be trouble." Bonnie said. "Let's go and check it out!" Ash said, and we started to run after them. I then saw the guy run off the road! 'Man that guy really is nuts!'

I then saw Diggersby use mud shot at Officer Jenny! Luckily, they were able to avoid the attack, but the guy kept getting further and further away. I then saw a tree fall over and it prevented Officer Jenny from going after that guy. I then made out that something fell off the back of the dude's truck. I gave Zeraora a look and she nodded back at me. We rushed over to the cage when the coast was clear. "It's ok, we won't hurt you, you're safe." I tried to ease the Pokémon out, when my friends came up to me. "Did Officer Jenny catch the guy yet?" I asked and they shook their heads. "Scatter." I looked back down at the Pokémon in the cage. "It's ok, they're my friends. They won't hurt you little one promise." The Pokémon eventually came out revealing a Scatterbug! "It's a Scatterbug." I commented. Ash then pulled out his Poké Dex. "Scatterbug. The Scatterdust Pokémon. When attacked by another Pokémon, Scatterbug scatters the black powder that covers its body and regulates its body temperature." The Scatterbug tried to intimidate us by spreading black powder in every direction.

"It looks like it's trying to scare us off." Clemont was right. "But you can't blame it, probably wasn't treated well." Ash then knelt down next to me. "You don't have to worry about us hurting you, Scatterbug." Then it collapsed! I quickly collected it in my arms. "Serena, is there a Pokémon center nearby?" She checked her device and nodded "Follow me!" We ran as fast as we could. I looked down at Scatterbug in my arms, "Hang in there Scatterbug!" Luckily Nurse Joy was able to treat Scatterbug immediately. "Wigglytuff, please take care of Scatterbug." Wigglytuff nodded and took Scatterbug into another room. "Now don't worry about a thing." I sighed in relief. "Thanks Nurse Joy." I thanked her. "It looks like you Scatterbug doesn't come from this area." That makes sense since Scatterbug fell out of a cage. "Huh? Wait, you can tell just by looking?" Ash asked, Nurse Joy then pulled up pictures of Vivillon on the screen above. "Wow, Vilvillon." Serena then commented on how they all look different. "Vivillon come in many different patterns depending on where they come from. And there are many more patterns than just that." I then pulled out my tablet. "Nurse Joy is right, here." I then showed my tablet to everyone, and I pulled up a picture of a Vivillon I met. It was a bright red. "So pretty." Bonnie and Serena commented.

"In a similar way, Scatterbug have slight differences too." That's amazing. "I'd be very interested to know where you found that Scatterbug." Before Ash could tell her a rope was tied around his wrist, we turned and saw Officer Jenny. "Now, don't make a move or you'll be in a whole lot more trouble than you're already in." I rushed up to her. "Please Officer Jenny, Ash isn't working for that thief, we tried to help you, please let him go." I begged her. "Move? You've already got me tied up!" But Officer Jenny didn't listen to us. "Believe me, I know who you are! If you have the stolen Scatterbug, then you must be working with Dolan, the Pokémon Smuggler." I tightened my fists at the word smuggler, Zeraora didn't like it either. All of a sudden Eevee came out of her poké ball! And she wan't happy. She was running all over to room. "Eevee, calm down, the smuggler isn't here." She then ran into my arms. "Is Eevee ok?" Serena asked. I nodded my head and scratched Eevee's head. Then Clemont explained to Officer Jenny that we wanted to help her.
