Breaking Titles at the Chateau!

Selene's POV

The gang and I were taking a break at a Pokémon Center, when Serena and Bonnie showed us the Battle Chateau. "Ta-da!" The exclaimed together. The boys were confused though. "That's the Battle Chateau, trainers gather there in friendly competition." Everyone looked at me in shock, when Serena spoke up. "That's right. How do you know about it Selene?" I then smiled and scratched Zeraora's ear. "One of the Nurse Joy here in Kalos told me about it. It was one of the first places I visited here in the Kalos Region." Everyone nodded in understanding. "Ash, you're gonna adore this place." I told the boy, Serena then told us that it was nearby so we should go. I then decided to explain how the Chateau works. "When you battle at the Chateau you don't have an official title." Everyone looked confused when I said title. "What's so important about the title you carry?" Clemont asked me. "You can only battle trainers that are the same rank as you."

Serena then asked what my title was. "I'm a Baroness, I need one more win to become a Viscountess." I told them. "Are you awarded anything? Like a badge?" Ash asked me. I shook my head. "Not really but, you can make great bonds with trainers there. That's actually where I met Viola." They all looked at me with surprised looks. "You met Viola there, before you even battled her?" Ash asked me, I just nodded my head in response. "Yep, that's where I learned what her battling style was." Before Serena could tell us more, a finger interrupted us. We looked behind the boys to see two boys with Pokémon on their shoulders. The bigger one had a Fletchinder while the younger one had a Fletchling. "Noble title, yo!" That's right I forgot to mention that. "Who's that Pokémon?" Ash pulled out his Poké Dex and pointed it at Fletchinder. "Fletchinder, the Ember Pokémon and the evolved form of Fletchling. Fletchinder flies faster and faster as the flame sac on its stomach gradually heats up." Fletchinder flapped its wings to prove the ex's point. "The evolved form of Fletchling, huh?" Ash asks. The bigger boy just looked down to him.

"Yo, yo, yo! A Pokédex in my face, not cool, bro!" The guy says while pushing Ash's Pokédex down, and the said boy just chuckles. The younger boy was looking at me before shrieking, and he tugged the bigger boy's jacket. "Bro, it's her! The Pokémon Queen, Selene!!" The bigger boy looks at me before shrieking in delight, he was shaking my hand like crazy. "Wow, what an honor to meet you, we've seen all your battle on Tv." I just chuckle, then Ash asks them what a noble title is. "Is it the title you have Selene?" I nodded at him. "Depending on how many battles you win, you'll move up in ranks till you reach the highest one, which is Grand Duke or Duchess." The two boys with the flying types nod their heads in agreement. "So you're not from around here, yo." The bigger boy said, the younger one then started to strut. "Check out the legendary Riviére Walk, yo." This is kinda funny but at the same time annoying. The bigger boy started to copy his younger brother, and told us that we should learn it if we're gonna be here. "This is gonna take a while."I muttered to Zeraora, and she had a deadpan look as well. "Do you think they're rapping?"

Both of the boys just looked shocked. "So noble title?" That snapped them out of their trances. "Well Selene basically already described it so, there isn't much else to say." The bigger boy said. The younger boy then told us that they were heading to the Chateau now, and they offered to take us. I jumped up and zipped out the door with Zeraora in tow. "Selene, wait up!" Bonnie shouted. Soon we were all walking to the Chateau, "Selene, meet Nico and Chester. You took off so fast that you missed introductions." I just chuckled. "Sorry, when someone tells me there's a battle nearby I can't help it." Everyone just laughed at me. "So today is the first time you challenge the Battle Chateau, Chester?" Ash asked the boy. Chester nodded. "Uh-huh. It sure is." He said while rubbing his neck sheepishly. "I already have a Battle-Chateau title. My brother's gotten really good at battling so I figured it's time for his debut." Nico told us. "Finally they're not talking weird." Serena and I commented together. "Yo, there it is, yo!" We spoke too soon. And there it was. The Battle Chateau!
