It has been a long few weeks since the argument between Mom and Dad. Since then, he has been away and only comes to mom's doctor's appointments.
By and large, I've developed my quirk on my own, with little to no help from my father. I don't need that bald-ass man.
At this point, I only need to worry about my little brother, who should arrive at any time now.
"Mom, you want me to take a bus to school today?" I said softly into mom's room. She's off of work since she has maternity leave.
"Please, and good luck with your test!"
"Thanks, Ma." I closed the door behind me and left for school. I took a longer route to school and I saw a nice coffee shop and decided to stop in and get breakfast.
"Bonjour, Y/N. Are you ready for the exams?" Aoyama asked, flaunting my direction.
"I'm pretty solid with my standing on understandings. What about you?"
"I have not a clue on what I'm supposed to be doing, but it can't be that hard. Bon avi!" He said, walking into the classroom.
I watched as people stressed over their exams from my desk as I sipped my coffee.
"Everyone sit down and shut up. I'm going to say this once, so listen up. You guys had an ample amount of time to study and prepare for these written parts of the exams." He flipped through the papers in his hand and looked around for a bit.
I know some people in here formed study groups and things along that line. I know Momo hosted studying at her house and bakugo helped Kirishima.
I'm not stressing.
"I'm going to start passing out the writing part of the exam now. If you don't pass, you will have to attend extra classes to make up for what you missed. Good luck."
A sense of dread and despair filled the classroom as the exam approached. I took a deep sigh and picked up my pencil.
Maybe, I am stressing. I turned my phone off and placed it in the bin Mr.Aizawa had at the front of the room.
"You may start. Use your time wisely."
The thought of being perfect has become so ingrained in the way I do everything that I have started to question myself.
3 long hours of answering, erasing, denying, and concentration gripped everyone by their throats.
"Okay, pencils down. Pass up your tests. Take a deep breath and relax." Mr.Aizawa collected the tests and went to put them somewhere.
Getting his phone, Midoriya said, "Now that that is over, I want to know what you think about the physical part of the exam?"
"I don't know. I hope they don't have us fighting pro heroes." I sighed.
"I couldn't give a damn who I fight, I'll blow them the hell away. I'll prove to you and that damn IcyHot bastard who's the real hero here." As he looked up and down at me, he stormed out in anger.
In shock, I asked, "Who pissed in his breakfast?" Kirishima scratched his head in disbelief. "I don't know man, he's been like that for a while."
As Tokoyami folded his arms into his cloak, he said, "His animosity is getting the best of him. He needs to calm down before he does anything irrational." He stomped down the hallway while I stood holding my breath.
"He's gradually becoming worse." I don't know why he acts like this when he's here. He is so angry and full of hate.
He's not like that around me, he's more patient and he doesn't make that many sly remarks. Maybe because I'm a family friend. It's disheartening to see him try too hard to boost his pride and prove himself.
He doesn't need to do that. I don't know what events in his life led him to be like this. I turned my phone on to see dozens of missed calls, voicemails, messages from Mom, Dad, and Marcus.
My heart dropped to my ass and panic was my first response. "The hell is going on...I'll catch you guys later." I rushed outside frantically trying to open my phone.
I decided to call Marcus first I sat on the steps waiting for him to pick me up.
Over the phone, Marcus yelled, "Damn. You finally answered! What were you doing?"
"I was taking an exam. Why? What happened?"
"Mom had the baby. I'll let you find out the name."
As I imagined the future with the new addition to the family, I had a cheesy grin plastered across my face.
"Man, I'm getting old as hell. You take care of him, middle child."
The entire time I was engrossed in the call, I was so happy I didn't notice I had company.
"You look like a pervert that way grinning at the phone. What are you looking at?" Bakugo asked, his hands deep in his pockets and bag draped over his shoulder.
My body was flooded with serotonin to the point that I couldn't care about his comment. I didn't stress about the exam I took. I was worried about who was watching me, but I couldn't contain my excitement.
I threw my arms around him and said, "I'm so happy. I have to go." I let go of him and went to go pick up my bag.
It took him so wildly off guard when he was hugged. It was evident he had no clue. "Y/N, what is wrong with you? Why the hell are you crying? What's going on?"
"What?" I wiped my tears away after checking my eyes. "Can you tell me what happened?"
Upon opening Mom's messages, I saw photos of my brother. Due to safety reasons, I am unable to visit, but that is fine.
"I'm an older sister. Anyway, I have to go. See ya!" I waved, leaving to go home. "Pause, before I go. What the hell was that in the classroom? Why did you go off on Midoriya and Todoroki like that?"
"First things first, tell your mom I said congrats on having the brat, and secondly I have my damn reasoning on why I do things. It's none of your business." He began to walk off waving me off.
"You displayed that business on national television during the UA Sports festival. I hope you didn't forget. Are you crazy?"
"I'm not crazy. Those bastards piss me off. It's something about them."
"You don't want to be left behind when you see them advance. I know damn well I wouldn't. Instead of trying to do shit alone let someone grow with you. All Might had help, and look at him now." He turned around furiously disoriented, but he didn't say anything because he knows I'm right.
"Toodles. Hearts and Kisses." I waved bye and rushed home.
I know once my little brother steps into the house it's going to be something new; a new opportunity, a new responsibility, a new life.
To start my new life as a middle child.
