In the crowd, I stood anxiously awaiting the proctor to begin the test. Nerves ran rampant through me.
Yaoyoruzu elbowed me in the arm and asked, "How does it feel to see your friends again?"
"It's good to see them again. I missed them a lot." I grinned as I remembered some things we used to do.
"I haven't seen my best friend yet." I sighed as I looked around. I thought to myself, "She's probably in a different section."
After a few nervous moments, the long-awaited exam began.
We must tag some sensors with balls or something similar during this part of the exam. I wasn't paying attention.
All of a sudden, the walls surrounding us fell and we were engulfed by a fancy urban area.
"I think the best option for us is to stick together." Tentacole stayed near us.
"We should stick together as a group," Earphone Jack said, "so we won't be eliminated one by one."
"It's a good thing we have Inertia on our team. You'll be able to slow down the balls if they come near us."
"Yeah, I have no problem doing that, but we're in the open right now, and I don't like how the other students are looking at us."
Without thinking, we ran into a random building. "I think we should be fine in here, but we have to hurry because I hear people announcing people who passed."
"Let's take a look at this area," I said as I opened the stairwell's door.
"Keep an eye on things, Tentacole, and you too, Earphone Jack. We don't know who's in here with us."
As I walked through the building, I could sense that something was amiss. The heightened sense of worry presented itself once we entered a dark room that had a wall of windows that overlooked the exam area.
"Tentacole, do you see anything out of the ordinary?" I asked. He looked around carefully and shook his head. I nodded, but I couldn't shake the feeling off.
"Earphone Jack..." Creati said, but she was cut off to her response, "I hear four people from about ten floors down."
"Did they just come in?" I asked myself.
A blast of loud music suddenly ripped through the walls, obstructing her ability to listen. I caught and covered her ears with my hands.
Creati looked around for a plan as she realized that we were under attack. As if I could see it in slow motion, an object flew towards the windows and shattered them.
I used my quirk to stop the pieces of glass from injuring us. "It looks like our enemy is highly intelligent."
"It's like they know our quirks, except for Inertia's. If they did know her's they wouldn't have broken that window." Sue said.
"We can use that to our advantage. Your quirk can cover several areas, correct?" Tentacole asked.
I nodded. As he leaned in close, he whispered to me to keep changing my quirk so they wouldn't discover it.
I placed Earphone Jack against the wall and went to check the doors. "They're locked."
I rubbed my arms at a quick pace to try and warm myself up. "Just got a little nippy in here."
"They're keeping up the charade," Creati said, creating a blanket. "They turned the air on to make Froppy hibernate."
"Creati, they are trying to make our quirks obsolete one by one. First, it was Earphone Jack, then it was Froppy. Save your energy and trust me until we have a fixed plan."
I began to think about what I could do when she nodded.
"I want the room to be warm." I thought to myself as I invoked my quirk to make things real.
If they intend to make us useless, I must find a way to counteract that. "I know what to do," I said aloud.
"What is it?" Earphone jack asked. "Well, we give up," I replied. There is no doubt that we are being watched, and if we surrender, we may give them false hope.
Creati nodded as I winked at her. She leaned against the door as she sighed. "I can't believe I'm going to fail the hero exam."
Within a blink of an eye, Creati was on the other side of the door.
As expected, everything went smoothly. They want her gone. My turn to fumble with their bag.
As my hand reached for the doorknob, I realized it was locked. Tentacole asked, "What's the plan, Inertia?"
I took a deep breath and managed to open the door using my quirk. Honestly, we work well as a team.
Momo was able to create handcuffs to hold back the main man behind the plan.
"Well, maybe next time." I shrugged. "This isn't possible. How did you break through the door?" The cuffed girl cursed.
"Maybe because I opened it," I replied skeptically. Her response was a scowl, but we passed.
The nerves that once ran crazy suddenly died down. I had felt relieved, but this was only temporary.
There's still another part of the exam that needs to get done.
***sorry this chapter is so ass, I literally lost the flow to this one so bad and it took a while for me to pick it back up***
