Neither of them mentioned Lisa's mother for the next two days. They were waiting for the meeting with her. The meeting took place at the office. Kim Taehyung had informed Chairman Marco Manoban about the case and the venue of the meeting. Although the Chairman was not in town, when this information was given to him, he ensured his attendance by flying back in his private aircraft.

A few minutes later Mrs. Manoban came accompanied by her lawyer Jeon Jungkook. She looked at Lisa and Irene with scorn.

It was Jeon Jungkook's turn to flip when he saw Irene. It was difficult for a person as wise as him to not look at her. He would steal occasional glances at her. He thought, 'Is Mrs. Manoban jealous of Irene? Why would she reject a beautiful woman like her? This old goat has gone senile!'

The atmosphere in the room was chilly with none of them looking at each other. Irene constantly rubbed her palm with her finger until Lisa placed her large warm hand over hers to comfort her.

With both the parties seated in front of each other, the lawyers started speaking. The documents were exchanged. They were both stuttering trying to show their best to Irene completely forgetting about their purpose.

All of a sudden, the door of the meeting room flung wide open and Chairman Marco Manoban walked in followed by his secretary and Cha Eun Woo.

Everyone in the room was stunned and silence prevailed until he took a seat.

"Good morning, father," Lisa said politely.

It was the first time Irene had met the Chairman. She was flustered even more and got up from her seat to greet him. The Chairman glanced at her, smiled and nodded. He was proud of his daughter's choice and understood her serious attempts to marry her.

Mrs. Manoban didn't bother to welcome him. Her pride had overcome her mannerisms. She just harrumphed and asked her lawyer to continue.

Jeon Jungkook looked at her and said, "Ms. Irene has breached the contract that was written between the parents of Lisa and the hospital employees. She is liable to penalty and hence the plaintiff. Mrs. Manoban would like to go forward with the court case against Ms. Irene and demand for maximum penalty for her including a jail term."

Mrs. Manoban glanced at Irene who looked like a lamb ready to be slaughtered. She smiled secretly.

The Chairman looked as if he was thinking deeply about it, with the fingers of his hands crossed and his index fingers resting on his lips.

Kim Taehyung was so repulsed by the words that came out from Jungkook's mouth that he immediately said, "Mr. Jungkook don't you know that Ms. Irene is no longer an employee of the hospital? The contract doesn't mention that an employee of any other company cannot contact Mr. Lisa. Hence, in her case this contract is null and void."

Jeon Jungkook knew that he was fighting a lost case. He looked at Mrs. Manoban trying to communicate through eyes. 'See, I told you so!' But she wouldn't budge. He continued, "No, we will take this to the court and push for maximum penalty."

Lisa got irritated. "Mother, are you out of your mind? Do you realize that if this goes to the court, the media will shred our family into pieces? Irene will be labeled. And for what? Because I want to marry her? Let me tell you – I will marry Irene no matter what! Even if you will go to the court and tarnish our reputation, my decision still won't waver. Go ahead if you are so keen. I will protect Irene." She was furious.

"Irene, Irene!" Mrs. Manoban banged the table with her fist and yelled, "You're infatuated by her, just look at your father. Haven't you learned anything? Keep her as your mistress!" she said scornfully. "This girl doesn't deserve you!"
