Outside Yoongi paced up and down the sidewalk of the hospital. His best friend had just been wheeled into the Emergency room unconscious and the nurses weren't moving fast enough for him. In a panic he had thrown himself on top of Hobi for fear that he was going to lose the one friend he seemed to have in this miserable world.

Now he was banned from entering the hospital until the board could review exactly what had taken place. He could only hope that someone would vouch for him.

As if someone had been listening, the new nurse he had been giving a hard time walked out looking around. Once she spotted him, she hurried towards his direction.

"Dr. Min!" She called out exasperated. Yoongi walked towards the girl not sure what to expect.

"How do you know the patient?" She asked breathlessly.

"What?"

"The one you wouldn't let go of. How do you know him?"

"His name is Hobi... Hoseok, rather, He's my best friend."

Her face fell, her eyes showing sympathy.

"He's in surgery right now. He has a brain hemorrhage."

Fear plummeted into his gut like an ice cold speer. Please don't let him die. What was he thinking driving this late at night?

Yoongi began to pace again. Gracie fell into step beside him.

"I can keep you updated if you want?"

"I—I can't lose him." His eyes pleaded with Gracie, begging her for a miracle she wasn't sure she could provide.

"I will look after him for you until you can come back to work."

"Please... here's my number."

Gracie smiled, patting him on the shoulder. This guys mood changed so quickly from the time she arrived. To a desperate man with sad puppy eyes.

He collapsed on a nearby bench his head in his hands. She couldn't tell if Yoongi was relieved or still pooling with fear and anxiety. Probably a little of all three.

"I—I'll go check on him." Gracie smiled in what she hoped was a reassurance that his friend would be okay.

Back inside Dr. Riley leaned against the counter by the nurses station scrolling through one of the tablets. When Gracie walked up to him, he sat it down on the counter with a smile.

"Good work tonight. I see you handled two patients one right after the other."

The nurse who gave her the tablet earlier glared at Gracie. Clearly her being praised was something she didn't approve of.

"She needs to learn how to use the tablets. She was running around like a chicken with its head cut off until I helped her." The nurse seemed pretty smug with herself, flicking a stray piece of blond hair out of her face.
