Gracie sat beside Yoongi, nervously clicking her thumbnail and forefinger. She glanced at the big round clock on the wall in front of them. They arrived thirty minutes early, probably should have come later. The anticipation ate at her, raising her anxiety.
Meanwhile Yoongi sat stoic next to her. If she didn't know any better she would have thought he was a statue. He still had the dark circles underneath his dark eyes.
"Yoongi." Gracie whispered, trying to get his attention. He jerked his head in her direction with confusion.
"What?"
"You okay?"
"I just want answers."
She knew that. He'd poured through countless research studies and even switched his career focus to neuroscience. He'd even convinced himself that there was such a thing as an alternate reality.
Gracie also found herself thinking the same thing at one point. Until she realized what had happened. When she talked to Yoongi about it he had waved her off. Like that couldn't be the reason. It wouldn't explain why Jimin was the way he was.
Does it explain it?
All of his scans came back normal. Their hope laid in the hands of a vengeful woman. Who would willingly take the life of someone she was supposed to love. So that no one could have him.
Penelope.
Someone Gracie thought she knew better than anyone.
Turns out... she didn't know her twin sister at all.
"Hopefully we can get some answers for you today."
He nodded, his eyes drifting towards a door opening down the hall. An officer stepped out with a folder and a scowl.
"Y/N Lee!" The officer beckoned.
Gracie stood, cringing at the sound of her given name. Yoongi smirked, following her lead down the hallway.
"And guest?" The officer sized Yoongi up, then looked at the sheet in front of his folder.
"Min Yoongi?"
"Yes." Yoongi shifted nervously from one foot to the other.
"Well alright. If you could empty your pockets. No sharp objects, weapons, anything that could potentially harm you or the prisoner.
They both emptied their pockets, placing them in the bin just inside the doorway. The officer picked up the bin sliding across the desk to the clerk.
She pursed her lips, looking up at us.
"Stan, they don't need to give me this stuff."
"It's in the rules, Tia." Grumbled the officer, rolling his eyes. Tia sucked her teeth, turning to Yoongi and Gracie with a smile.
