The Tagatha Story

Chapter 3: In sickness and in health

Sophie decided that if Agatha wouldn't write to her then she would pay a visit to Agatha. She left Professor Manely in charge, whilst her and Hort went to Camelot City. When they arrived Sophie went up to doors of the castle and knocked very hard. To her surprise a ragged Tedros opened it. "Sophie!" he said somewhat relived. "Thank God you're here!"

"Why what's wrong?"

"It's Agatha." Tedros said with pain in his eyes. He looked like he had been toasted alive on a torture rack his eyes pleading for help. His eyes were puffed up and red, fresh tear stains on his cheeks. His chest was rising and falling very heavily.

Sophie dropped all her bags and rushed up the stairs to her sister. When Sophie saw Agatha on the bed she gasped in shock. Agatha was pale as chalk. Her eyes shut her breathe shallow. Tedros came up behind. "She's been like that for 14 hours and I don't know why." His voice was racked with agony. "Every so often she says something. Sometimes its gibberish, she says my name a lot, and you're name to. And then... sometimes she says 'don't hurt the baby'."

Sophie looked at Tedros with wide eyes. Tedros smudged the tears rolling down his face. "Dot, Hester and Anadil are upstairs unpacking, you can go and say hello to them if you want. Tedros walked over to his sleeping queen and stoked her head gently.

Agatha P.O.V

Agatha was alone in a glass chamber. She couldn't remember how she got here or why she was here. Suddenly a figure appeared in front of her. "Hello Agatha" she said her voice was like steel and she had flowing silver hair. "You won't remember me" she grinned "but I remember you".

"Who are you?" said Agatha.

"For now, that doesn't matter darling, what matters now is your future."

"What?"

"I have seen darkness in your future Agatha. Would you like to see?" Slowly Agatha nodded. The woman pulled an orb out from the glass wall. Agatha peered inside. It showed a hooded figure running towards Tedros, then it pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the back. Tedros keeled over, dead. "No!" Agatha fell back putting a hand to her mouth as a tear rolled down her cheek.

"Darling, darling! You poor unfortunate soul! I can help you! You're loyal, loving king does not have to die! I just need...a little bit of payment. Not a lot. Remember darling nothing comes for free."

"What do you want?"

The stranger grinned "I want the little person growing inside of you!"

"How did you know? No body knows!"

"That is my price! You either keep you king or you're baby! Do not tell anybody what you have seen!"

The figure whirled her cape and Agatha sat up in her bed. Tedros rushed to her side. "Agatha! Agatha! You're awake! Agatha I've been so worried!" He smothered her in a hug.

"How long have I been asleep?"

"Two days" said Tedros. Suddenly Agatha burst into uncontrollable tears. Tedros picked her up and rested her on his lap, desperately trying to calm her down and failing.

The Coven P.O.V

Anadil rested her head on Hester's shoulder. Dot was reading in the corner. Suddenly Sophie stormed into the room. "Agatha's awake!" she said. Dot jumped up in relief. Anadil and Hester said "Thank everything that's evil!" in unison.

They all rushed out of the bedroom and halted outside Agatha's door. They could hear crying and Tedros's comforting voice.

"And there was this strange lady" said Agatha.

"What the heck is she talking about?"asked Anadil.

"No idea" said Hester.

They all pushed their ears up to the door.

"Then she showed me an orb which showed you being killed and said that it would happen in my future." Agatha wailed "Then she said it could be stopped if...if...I gave her the...the baby."

Hester, Anadil and Dot all raised their heads in shock.

"Agatha's pregnant!?" said Dot

"Shut up I'm trying to listen!" whisper shouted Hester.

They pressed their ears to the door again.

"Then she said not to tell anyone...but-but I had to tell you because I love you and-"

"Agatha listen to me. Nothing is going to hurt me or the baby. Everything is going to be fine. It was just a dream."

"But-but it felt so real."

"You have so many friends and family who will protect you know matter what. I love you, Sophie loves you, the Coven loves you, and we will all protect you." He kissed her forehead.

"Teddy-what...what if she comes back?" Agatha said these words with genuine fear and even though she was evil to the bone, Hester couldn't help but feel bad for listening to her conversation.

"If she comes back, then you let me know immediately." Agatha nodded and Tedros hugged her.

"Come on guys lets go." said Hester.

Hort's P.O.V

Hort felt...well...useless. He had not seen Sophie since she rushed off to see Agatha. He had gone to speak to the coven, but they were busy arranging...they did tell him but he couldn't remember. Tedros wanted nothing to do with him, he had his hands full with his upset wife and unborn child. And Hort, well he was just Hort. What was he supposed to do?

He was bored out of is mind. He read the 'Tale of Sophie and Agatha' three times. Did an hour work out in the Camelot gym and went to the kitchens to eat 5 muffins, and still no one came to check if he was ok.

So in the end, Hort picked a flower from the gardens, and went to look for Sophie. When he eventually found her he said "Hey Sophie I-"

But Sophie cut him off. "Hort you are the last thing on my mind right now if you want to be useful get out of my way!" Hort crushed the rose in his palm and through it on the floor then he ran out of the room like a little child. "Hort I didn't mean to upset you its just Agatha-"

"Well I tell you what Sophie its ALWAYS just Agatha! I put up with it EVERY SINGLE DAY BECAUSE I LOVE YOU SO MUCH! But seriously! Why is Agatha the ONLY person on you're mind?! You keep prioritising her over me EVERY DAY and I'm tired of it Sophie. Do I matter? Because I can't tell if you are engaged to me or to Agatha." Angry tears were falling off Hort's cheeks. Sophie was taken aback. She didn't think Hort cared, let alone felt jealous of Agatha and her relationship.

"Hort I'm sorry but Agatha's my sister and-"

"No Sophie, I'm sorry, sorry that I'll never be good enough. Sorry that I will never meet your satisfaction."

He stalked away. He knew he didn't mean half the things he said, but he was hurt. He wiped the tears of his face and went to bed.
