As you sat in Hawks' office the next morning, you kept trying to sneak glances at him, but he was so intently focused on you that it was impossible to not catch his eyes in yours. You found yourself staring into his eyes yet again when you heard a knock at the office door that actually surprised you so much that you jumped slightly.

In walked a cute girl with neon blue hair that came just above her shoulders and a skin tight unitard that perfectly matched her hair in color. She had a very pretty face with a cute button nose and wideset navy eyes that peeked out from the fringe of her hair. You could only assume that this had to be Mika.

Even though you were in plain view, she seemed to have laser focus as she strolled over to Hawks' desk, her high heeled boots stomping loudly on the floor with each step that she took. As she arrived, she tossed a manila folder with pictures into the desk and leaned over it, her breasts falling slightly out of her top in the process.

"Hey baby," she cooed. "I have the surveillance pictures you need."

"Mika," he said, ignoring her advances and the papers on the desk, "I'd like you to meet y/n l/n."

Her hair flipped as she twirled around to face you and you saw her eyes narrow slightly. You could tell just by her gaze that she was not fond of you already.

"Nice to meet you," you said to her politely.

She turned back around, completely ignoring you and said to Hawks, "New secretary? One wasn't enough?"

"She's my new sidekick in training."

"Yeah, I'm sure she's your sidekick," she said sarcastically.

Hawks kicked his feet up on the desk, not bothered at all by her attack.

"What happened to your arm?" she asked, motioning to your slinged arm.

"Fell for a cute girl, broke my arm in the process," he said, smiling at you.

Mika turned to face you again, this time not being ambigious at all, her eyes shooting daggers in your direction.

"If there isn't anything else, I have some more work to get done," Hawks said to her.

Mika seemed irritated by the whole conversation, but knew that it was futile to try to object, so she turned on her heel and left, but not before leaning up against the door frame and saying, "Call me anytime."

As soon as she left the room, Hawks stood up from his desk and walked over to you. "Sorry you had to put up with that. Mika is just a bit...... intense. Her quirk is very useful in the field, which is why I still have contact with her. But I want you to know that there's nothing between us now. In fact there was barely anything between us to begin with. After months of her throwing herself at me, I finally tried giving her a chance and instantly regretted it, breaking things off with her after only a couple of days. Now she doesn't seem to get that we aren't a thing and tells Himari and other people how close we are."

You wanted him to explain more. Part of you wanted to know every detail of what happened, but instead you said, "It's okay, you don't have to explain, it's the past."

That afternoon, you were busy printing off blueprints for the Paranormal Liberation Front headquarters, when Himari walked in.

"Y/n, I just got a call from your mom, and she said there's been a very bad accident and that she needs you to come home right away."

"What?!" you exclaimed. You turned to Hawks and stammered, "Uuhhh.. Can--"

"It's okay, y/n. Go ahead and go to them. If you want I can come with you."

"It's okay. I know you have other stuff to do. And I don't really know what is going on yet. Who knows how long it will be."

You could tell by the look on Hawks' face that he really wanted to come with, but you weren't really sure if you wanted to introduce him to your family just yet, especially since you were still unsure of what you were to each other.

How would I even introduce him to them? This is my boss? This is my boyfriend? This is some guy I'm hooking up with?

As you gathered your things to leave, you picked up your phone and started dialing your mom's number. No answer.

You tried to call several more times as you rode on the subway towards your parent's house, to no avail. After almost an hour you finally arrived at your childhood home, not knowing if that is where your parents would be, but not knowing where else to go.

As you entered the house you called out, "Mom??....Mom?"

You turned into the hallway and saw your mom with a towel wrapped around her head as if she had just gotten out of a shower and ran over to her throwing your arms tightly around her neck. "Mom!!!"

"Y/n! What brings you home?"

"I got a call about an accident, what's going on?"

"Accident?" she asked, confused by what you were saying.

"Himari said you called the front desk and said there was an accident, so I rushed home."

"No, everything is fine here. Must be some sort of mistake."

As you walked back into the building where Hawks' Agency was located, you were still confused as to what was going on.

Why would someone call to say that your family had been in an accident?

You walked into the office and over to Himari to ask about the phone call when she said, "I thought you were still in the office. You sure you don't have a speed quirk?"

You were confused by her statement, but even more confused about the phone call so you ignored her question and asked, "Are you sure that it was my mom that called and said to come home?"

"I mean, I think so?" she said. "I've never talked to her, so I don't really know her voice. But she said she was your mom."

"Okay, thanks, Himari."

You turned back around and walked to Hawks' office, still puzzled by why someone would call to say your family was injured. As soon as you opened the door, you took in the sight that was right in front of you. There Hawks was, leaning up against his desk kissing Mika who was leaning into him.
