···Dabi's POV···

As I watched Hawks and y/n enter the building where Hawks worked, I considered following them. But as I stepped down to cross the street, I thought better of it, and stepped back onto the curb. Since I already had a connection with Hawks, he would be even more suspicious that I was onto him if I just showed up in front of him at work. Also it would be near impossible to kill him surrounded by this many people, it would definitely bring all of the authorities.

Plus I needed more info on y/n. I also had to figure out what the connection was between Hawks and y/n. But a huge part of me was relieved that I found her so quickly. It was like it was meant to be. I finally had her again.

They were holding hands in a way that made it seem like they could be together. It stung a little, but I had doubts that Hawks would be the type to let his girl just go out and fuck other guys, so maybe it wasn't true.

What was she up to? Was she working for him? Didn't seem likely. Undercover people wouldn't go to the extent that she did last night, right? She was really enjoying herself when we were fucking each other and she wanted to go round after round with me. Her actions were definitely not what someone who was undercover would do. Plus there was no way to fake what she did to me and what I did to her and how much she enjoyed it, plus there was no motive to have sex with me. Nothing to gain.

I looked down and saw that I was hard again just thinking about y/n briefly. Fuck.

Guess the best thing for me to do is to get her away from Hawks. There was no doubt that y/n would be mine if Hawks wasn't around.

···Y/N POV···

Shortly after entering the office a few days later, Hawks got a call on his phone. As he picked it up and looked at the screen, he looked up at you with a concerned look and said, "It's Dabi," before picking up the call.

As you listened to the one sided conversation, you got more and more anxious. You weren't 100%, but it sounded like Dabi wanted to meet up with Hawks. And after last night's conversation at the club, you knew that the League of Villians intended to kill him. You felt your brow furrow as you worried about it.

After he got off the phone, you found out that Dabi did, in fact, ask to meet up with him later on that night.

"I don't think this is a good idea," you told Hawks, placing your hand on his chest. "I don't want any harm to come to you."

"I get that there is a decent amount of danger," he answered back. "But I have an advantage because I know that he intends to kill me, but he thinks that I only think it's a meeting."

"Then let me come with you," you pleaded.

"I will call Endeavor and make sure I have plenty of backup. Besides, I have something more important for you to do. I need you to go to his apartment while I'm meeting with him and look to see if there is anything there that would lead back to his true identity."

You looked at him worried. "I still don't know about this. He intends to kill you."

"Do you not think that I can handle him?" he asked, stroking the side of your face lightly.

"No, but...," you trailed off while continuing to look at him with a worried look. You knew that you had to have faith in him, but it didn't make you worry any less. Finally you relented, "....Fine."

"I promise I will be okay," he finally said, first kissing your crumpled forehead before kissing you deeply on the lips.

"Let's come up with a plan. It will make you feel better."

You still were worried about Hawks as you approached Dabi's door, but after hearing his plan for how he was going to get the upper hand over Dabi, you felt much better about the whole thing. Now you just needed to concentrate on your task at hand.

"I just got here," you whispered to the feather around your neck as you stroked it gently.

You then looked down at the key that Hawks gave you, wondering how he must have gotten ahold of it. Dabi obviously hadn't ever trusted Hawks enough to give it to him willingly, so how did he come by the key?

You placed it into the lock and turned it slowly, not really knowing what to expect.

To your relief, it was just an empty apartment. No sign of life at all.

You looked around in the apartment. It looked very basic, without much personality to it. Pretty much anyone could have lived in the location since there was nothing personal that made it stand out in any way. As you started going through some drawers in the bland kitchen, you noticed a folded piece of paper on top of other things in the drawer. As you looked more closely you realized that it had your name written on it.

Why does he have my name written down on the sheet of paper?

As you unfolded it, you saw your parent's address written on the inside. You felt your heart jump into your throat as it started to beat wildly. What the fuck was going on?

You immediately picked up your phone and started dialing, concerned that something might have happened to your parents. Your mom answered the phone cheerfully on the third ring, as if nothing were wrong at all. You explained to her about what you had found and she agreed to be extremely vigilant and keep everything locked tight. You felt a little bit better talking with your mom, but you were still concerned that Dabi had taken enough interest in you that he had looked up where you lived.

You dug through the drawers more, trying to find more clues about his identity, when you suddenly heard a deep voice behind you that you recognized instantly.

"How lucky of me that you came to see me. Could you not keep me out of your mind?"
