"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Wyatt asks as I pace back and forth in front of the café.
"I'm sure. I have a really good feeling about this." Wyatt touches my arm.
"You're cold."
"I'm always cold." Which isn't a lie. "It's almost noon."
Destiny walks out of the café.
"Sorry I was late. It's so busy in there," she says to us as she digs around in her purse.
"Before we do anything we might regret, we have some questions," Wyatt says sternly. Destiny finds her car keys in her purse and motions us to follow her. Wyatt and I glance at each other before following.
"Yes, yes, of course you have questions," Destiny says quickly as she hurries around the corner of the café and leads us to the back.
"Are you in a rush? We can walk if it's a problem," I ask.
"No, no, I'm fine. I just want to get out of here. I don't like to be here any longer than I can help it." Destiny leads us to a blue truck. "Just throw your bags in the back."
Wyatt grabs my arm. "Don't do anything until we know for sure it's safe," he whispers to me and I nod.
"We didn't get to properly introduce ourselves," Destiny says as she puts her purse in the truck and walks over to us.
"I'm Destiny, obviously," she says as she points to her name tag.
"I'm C..." I try to say, but Wyatt interrupts me.
"She's Cassie, and I'm James," he says as he shoots me a look.
"Ok, great! Let's get moving!" Destiny hops into the truck. Something about Destiny's attitude makes me do what she says.
I put my bag in the back of the truck. Wyatt gives me a look but does the same.
"I didn't want to give her our real names, you know, just in case," he whispers to me; I nod. I climb into the truck and sit next to Destiny; Wyatt hesitantly climbs in next to me.
Destiny starts up the truck and says, "Forum isn't very far from here, maybe fifteen minutes tops."
"We could've walked. We shouldn't've bothered you," Wyatt says.
"You aren't bothering me," she says as she winks at us. "Besides, I like the company."
We pull out of the parking lot, and I can't get the feeling off my chest that this could've been a big mistake.
