I wake up on the couch confused. Taylor is no where in site and it's light outside. I lean over and snag my phone off the coffee table. I check the time 5:30am. What the hell, did I sleep through an entire day or something? I then see a message so I click on it. It's from Taylor.
You fell asleep watching bones lol. I tried to wake you but you were out cold so I just laid a blanket over you. I went home cause I had to work in the morning but I hope you slept well and have a good day :)))
I smile at the message and type a quick response before getting up. I didn't work today because someone messed up the schedule. I head to the bathroom and set out a towel. I then turn the water to warm and undress, getting in.
I quickly wash my body and then turn the water to cold to wash my hair. I try to make my pink dye last as long as possible.
When I'm all done I turn off the water and grab my towel wrapping it around me. I carefully step out making sure not to slip on floor. I then head to my room and pick out my outfit. It was a simple black tank top, grey Cardigan and a pair of dark jeans. I looked like an English teacher but I still liked the outfit so I didn't change. I don't want my hair to be more damaged than it is so I let it air dry.
I head out to the kitchen and look through the fridge deciding on what to eat. I hadn't made coffee yet however I didn't want it for some reason. I pick out some peach yogurt and take a seat on one of my stools. I slowly eat it and think about what I needed to do today. I got paid last week but it almost all went to bills and groceries so I couldn't really go shopping till my next paycheck. I decide on just practicing my saxophone and listening to music today. I didn't want to run around doing things today as I knew I would be running all day at work tomorrow.
I finished my yogurt and toss the container in the trash before heading over to my record player. It was a lilac color and had some flower stickers on the sides. I have it since I was 11 so a little over 8 years. I'm shocked it still works so well however I have had to replace the needle and a couple things on it a few times. With that in mind though that's pretty amazing still.
I shuffle through my record shelf before picking out trasatlanticism by death cab for cutie.
It was a gift from my mom and was my first ever record. I didn't even know who they were when she gave it to me. I didn't even listen to it till after she passed which was a year and 3 months after my 11th birthday. Once I did listen to it however it soon became one of my favorites. I now own 3 other death cab for cutie albums. Plans, narrow stairs and we have the facts and we're voting yes.
I put the vinyl on it lightly and set the needle down. A few seconds pass before The New Year starts.
I walk away from my shelf and go to grab my box of vinyl that I had in my room. Yes I had a lot of vinyls but a lot of them were gifts from my mom.
I was going to change out some of the ones I didn't listen to often and put them in the bin that way all my records got some time to be displayed or played. I first take out an old sound garden one followed by one direction, American football, three days grace, escape the fate and finally bowling for soup. I replace it with my new records I had bought and the stand up to take bin of records back to my room. I set it on my small shelf and then go back out to the living room.
My phone pings in my back pocket and I take it out to look at the notification.
Taylor: Im off of work in an hour wanna go do something?
I think for a minute as I did have work tomorrow but then again so did he. I guess going out for a few hours couldn't hurt.
Flynn: sure just let my know where and when we are going
                              Taylor: okay cool ttyl
                              Flynn: ttyl (:
I put my phone back in my pocket after responding and then just enjoy the beautiful music that was filling my apartment.
                              Time skip:
I grab my phone and rush out the door 5 minutes later than I wanted. Taylor and I had agreed to meet at a skatepark about 3 blocks from here.
I speed down the stairs of the apartment complex and quickly dash out onto the sidewalk. It not far from where we live so I decided to walk because then if it does get late he could always give me a ride back home.
When I reach the park I rush up to the tall boy and he greets me with a smile.
"Ready to skate?" He asks excitedly.
"Not really, I don't know how to skate and not to mention I don't have a board" I say feeling slightly embarrassed.
"Well I kinda figured that" he says shaking his head a little. "What I mean is are you ready to learn to skate" he explains. I was a little nervous but it was always something I had found interesting so I nodded my head.
He takes me over to a not busy part of the park and sets down his board.
"Now I'm going to show you how to get on" he says taking slow steps he places each foot on the board gracefully. "It's pretty easy now I'm going to hold your hands and your going to try" he informs.
I grab his hands and follow what he did except I have the balance of a toddler and the board skids out from underneath my feet. Luckily I was holding onto him otherwise I would have fell flat on my ass. He grabs it and rolls it back over to me to try again. This time I'm more understanding of how it moves so I make sure to distribute my weight evenly.
It surprisingly doesn't fly out from under me this time and I'm left still standing on the board. "You did it! Now I'm going to teach you how to push the board. I want you to move you front foot at a slight forward angle and the push off with you back foot" he says demonstrating with his feet. I do as he says and it takes me a couple try's but soon enough the board is moving and I cruising around without being scared.
We spend a few more minutes practicing that and I'm now able to skate slowly without holding his hands. It's actually super fun I hop off the board and ask him to show me a few tricks.
He does so happily and takes off parading around incorporating tricks into his skating. He gives me a thumbs up and continues to skate around. He was now going to drop into a bowl but somehow his board doesn't follow his body and soon he is at the bottom of it holding his foot in pain. I carefully slide down the side of bowl and meet him at the bottom.
"Oh my goodness are you okay?" I question.
"No I think broke my foot" he says trying to catch his breath.
"We gotta go to the hospital but first how are we going to get out?" I ponder. I think for a moment and come up with a very unsafe plan. I grab his arm and walk him as close to the top of the bowl as we can get I the heave myself over the coping and begin to pull his out. He groans in pain as he try's to get out. I grab one of his legs swinging it over the edge and then do the same to the other one.
I stand up and lift his to his feet rushing to the car as fast as I can with someone leaning on me. He hops in the passenger side of his car and I take driver seat. I key the ignition and fly out of the parking lot towards the hospital...
