Loki woke up to a knock on the door. Sarah quietly walked in. "I'm just dropping off some breakfast." She put the tray on a nightstand. "Sarah." He took a deep breath. She looked concerned. "I need to speak with you." They walked into the hallway. "My name is Loki and I'm not from this timeline. You see, I'm from the future." He showed her some magic. Sarah was in shock. She didn't know what to say. "My daughter and I accidentally came here because of a time machine. It's all my fault. I'm not sure if my friend will be able to rescue us." Sarah put her hand on Loki's shoulder. "Well, I had a feeling you guys were different. This is a lot for me to take in. I'm going to do my best to keep you safe. You can stay at my hotel as long as you want." Loki smiled shyly. "Thank you." He walked back to the room.Alaina had the tray on the bed. Loki sat down and ate some grapes. The feeling of grape juice sliding down his throat brought back memories of Asgard. Hours later, Sarah knocked again on the door. She invited them to come with her to the market. A simple market task turned into a whole tour around the town. Sarah took them to her friend, Fred's barn. It was located outside the town. Fred offered them to try horseback riding. Alaina immediately smiled. Loki froze. "I have to get out of this town." He started walking away, but Alaina pulled him right back.
With a hand on her hip, she said, "C'mon dad! You can't bail out!" Sarah smirked at him. Three white horses poked their heads out of the barn. Now, he couldn't say no. Fred and Loki helped the girls onto their horses. The isolated horse stared at him with big eyes. Loki could've sworn that the horse was more scared than him. He tipped his hat to Alaina and Sarah. "Alright ladies. Here goes nothing." Loki jumped onto the horse, which startled it. This caused the horse to run out of control. Loki gripped tightly onto the saddle. His feet were almost touching the ground. Sarah gently kicked her horse on its side to get moving. Alaina watched the horses trot around the barn. The horse stood on his hind legs. Alaina pointed at Loki with her mouth open. He landed in mud. Sarah laughed at him. She hopped off her horse and gave Loki a hand.
Loki whispered a quiet magic spell to make the mud disappear. They grabbed some lunch at a nearby restaurant. BBQ pulled-pork sandwiches were served to their table. A live band performed while they ate.
