[* A VISIT FROM THE PAST...OR IS IT? *]
Not so long ago, Humans and apex predators like tigers and foxes were the greater creatures on the food chain. Apex predators had the strength and teeth for the hunt, and Humans had the intellect and everything else. Until came a creature that had both and all. A creature that was both Human and apex predator. How it came into existence was unknown, but it shot straight to the top of the food chain. This creature was called The Vampire.
The vampire usually had gray-ish dry skin with body temperatures as cold as corpses and heartbeats slower than the normal. In their actual nature, they would be considered the living dead, but more functional than the ordinary zombie. Before the vampire, humans were the most supreme creatures above all. The only thing more supreme than a Human would be a more supreme Human. Which is exactly what the vampire was. The vampire was ten times a human. Ten times faster, Ten times stronger, ten times the endurance with Ten times the healing speed and ten times the power of the sense of smell, sight and hearing. Human’s required oxygen and food to survive, but to the Vampire those only contributed a small fraction. Vampire’s survival would mostly be dependent on blood. Not the circulation of it in their bodies, but the consumption. They were always thirsty blood. But the right term would be HUNGRY not Thirst. They would survive on any type of blood, but Human blood was the only thing that would truly satisfy them. To the vampire, Drinking blood other than that of a human would be the same as choosing to eat disgusting grass over nicely barbecued beef. it wasn’t a pleasing act. Human blood was paradise. The only thing that was more satisfying to the vampire than drinking human blood, was drinking human blood fresh and direct from human bodies. They would suck human blood by biting into the human body with their sharp fangs that would grow from their teeth when needed, and grow back in when not. The vampire would not drink from a fellow vampire for two reasons. Firstly because vampire blood was bitter to a vampire, and secondly because vampires had little blood circulating in their bodies veins. Though their fangs were not only used to feed on blood, but also had the ability to release a toxin that would kill a human and then instantly resurrect them as a vampire in a single bite. But this poison would only be released when the vampire needed.
The other thing that would make the vampire superior, would be it’s life span. It’s aging was different compared to humans. The more the vampire grew, the slower It aged. If a vampire was born a vampire, then From birth up to puberty, It would grow at the same rate as a normal human. From there, it’s aging would slow down a bit, and then after it reaches full adultery, the vampire would grow at such a slow rate that it would be as though it was not growing at all. Hence the vampire would live for thousands of years and still look young. Humans would get old and die because at a certain age their bodies become slower because their cells become weaker and start to die off, and because of their slow healing rate the body becomes unable to be replace the dying cells, hence the body becomes more vulnerable to diseases, which consequently leads to the death of the human itself. But for the vampire, as it grows it’s body functionality gets stronger and healing rate gets faster. So their body cells are constantly fixing themselves at a high rate, hence why the Vampire does not age quickly and lives longer. You’d only start seeing signs of old age in a vampire at about 10,000 years of age, or more. Their lifespan was unknown. For these reasons, the vampire was considered immortal..
A human would die of suffocation in a few seconds of deprived air because their body needs oxygen to survive, otherwise the body cells die off. A human will die of a fatal wound because their bodies can not heal the wound fast enough to prevent loss of blood. A human will die of poison and intoxicated air because their cells are not strong enough to fight the toxins. Hence a human was easy to kill.
