                  ⛔ { CHAPTER THREE }  3⃣

         [~ “IF I DIE, YOU DIE TOO.” ~]

  After his mother’s sudden visit, Brandon knew what he had to do. He knew just who to seek for help. His people questioned why he could not just hunt down the mother himself with their help, and put an end to it. But it was as though Brandon already knew what type of woman she was and what she was capable of. He knew he needed help from an experienced Hunter if he was going to stand a chance against his Mother. He had to seek the help of Mashael.

  Brandon had made alot of enemies through his long life, Most of then he had managed to kill, some of them he had managed to crack a bargain with, while the rest could not get to him because of the power of his army. But still, even with these many foes, non was compared to Mashael The hunter.

  Mashael had only recently become a vampire. When Her and Brandon crossed paths, she was just an ordinary mortal. But even though she was mortal and Brandon was immortal, Mashael seemed to be the only foe Brandon had rivaled the longest. The two had been playing cat and mouse games with each other the longest. Mashael was a warrior who hunted down unnatural creatures that threatened the peace of others and Brandon was, well, an unnatural creature that threatened the peace of others. Brandon was always up to his bad deeds, and Mashael was always there to stop him. It was a batman-Joker relationship in many aspects. Even though nobody knew of Batman and Joker in that era.  Mashael and Brandon were always on each other’s radar.  They never once got along. Mashael was always irritated and disgusted by Brandon, and Brandon would take any chance to irritate Mashael. The two had tried to kill each other more times than anyone could count.

  But due to the fact that the two had known each other for quite a while, and Mashael was a master strategist and Analyst, she had studied Brandon and figured out his weaknesses and it was assumed she already knew how to kill him and she would have done it long before. But Brandon was too cunning that he made his death the most costly. His vampire line was linked to alot of innocent people, Some of which were close to Mashael. Hence his death would mean the death of all those people too. So Mashael could not kill Brandon because of that reason. The only thing she could do was watch his moves and stop him from doing anything drastic. Brandon on the other hand, he could not kill Mashael because despite not having fancy vampire abilities, Mashael was still the best warrior everybody knew. Hence for these reasons, the two were forced to be at a bargain. They just had to degrade to keep each other in check everytime one was in the other’s way. Their rivalry remained unresolved.

  The fact the Mashael was the best hunter-warrior around, especially for out of the natural occurrences, Brandon knew she was the best person to help resolve the issue with his mother. But at that time, Mashael had never been seen or heard of for months. Some people thought she was dead, others thought she had just given up on the whole Hunter job and went to live her own life in the shadows. Brandon knew she was still around somewhere, but he never knew where exactly. His mother’s terrifying visit gave him the motivation to find her. So he begun his search which went on for about a week and a half, until he figured a way to locate her using his Daughter’s witch magic. That was how he found himself at the Troll mountains at the very time Mashael was having an issue with a mountain Troll intruder in her home.To Mashael, that was a bad timing, But to Brandon that was a show he would give anything to watch. Mashael getting a beat down.

  Eventually, Mashael killed the troll when it threatened access a door where she kept her pet Parrot in a cage. Mashael was not the type of person to love pets, so finding out MAshael had a pet that she loved so much as to kill a Troll for was a reveal that hit Brandon in an unexpected way,
