Golden Heart (Hunter x Reader)

The Selkidomus

We were trying to make some money off of bounties since Eda didn't have her portal to Luz and I's world anymore. However, our latest bounty only granted us half a snail. Let's just say, Eda wasn't having that. She threatened the clerk but that didn't work, so she tried to attack him... which also didn't work because she doesn't have any magic anymore.

She pointed to a wanted poster of her's, "Oh come one! I'm the Owl Lady, remember? I'm a wanted criminal!" This earned her laughter from the crowd. Someone then took down the wanted poster and walked away.

"At least my image still commands fear and respect," Lilith positioned her arms towards a poster of her from when she was with the Emperor's Coven. It was quickly burned down with a flamethrower and replaced with a new poster for the Emperor's Coven with someone in golden armor and a white cape being the figure on it. This clearly wasn't Emperor Belos, but the armor seemed inspired. Over the image of this new figure was their title, The Golden Guard.

Luz takes one of the posters and asks, "The Golden Guard? Did you know him, Lilith?"

"Unfortunately, I did," Lilith takes the poster from Luz, "He always got special treatment because he was the genius teen prodigy, but he's really just a brat!" She then starts to crumple up the paper, "If he's in charge, vomit!" She throws the crumpled posted into the trash but by some kind of spell, it floats out and sticks itself to her face. She grunts and walks away. Eda is just walking away too, when she's stopped by Luz.

"Why don't we take on the biggest bounty we can find?"

"That's I great idea," I jump in, hoping two people liking the idea convinces Eda to join in. Luz then looks at the bounty board, muttering something before taking one of the fliers and holding it up to us.

"There's something called a selkidomus that's ravaging boats up and down the coast!"

"Oooh, it'll be a high seas adventure," I jump in once more, trying to sell the idea to Eda.

"Mmmm.... No. We gotta keep a low profile and we need fast cash," she then looks at the board, "Ooh this one! The abominable cutie pie, I hear it's very dangerous! Ooh, ooh, there it is right now!" She then chases after it. Luz pulled King and I away, down to the docks.

"Selkidomus hunt, we want in!" Luz slammed the flier on a barrel in front of the captain of a nearby ship. I nod in agreement.

"Fine, but it won't be easy." He tosses Luz a blue bag and we run onto the ship. On the ship, we do a few chores and it becomes obvious the ship captain has taken a liking to our work ethic. That's when a selkidomus tail-slapped the boat causing the ship to rock. One of the crew throws a spear at it but it releases spikes on it's back that chop their head clean off. As they put their head back on, Luz and I get out our glyphs. We first use ice glyphs to block it's path, before creating a glacier it can go on, then we use vines to hold it in place, attempting to pull the vines back onto the ship with the help of our fellow crewmates. 

Once we're sure we've got it, Luz ties the vines to the ship so the selkidomus doesn't get away. That's when there's an explosion behind us and we see a shadowy figure jump off the ship when turning around. I drop an ice glyph into the water to create a glacier raft. Luz and I jump onto it and Luz takes out a fire glyph that she activates to propel the raft. We reach a small island, but our glacier gives  out and we're thrown onto the thief, the bag of money being thrown into the water. The thief and Luz cry out towards the bag as it is taken away by the waves. The thief also sounds an awful lot like Eda. Luz pulls off the thief's hat.

"Eda?!?!? Why were you robbing that ship and where are your legs?"

"It's called disguising your tracks," she snaps and her legs hop out of the boat and back to her, "Now why were you two on that ship? You could've gotten killed!" That's when water shaped into a hand rises up from the water and slams onto the beach of whatever island we were on. The water disappears, revealing the Golden Guard holding something birdcage shaped with cloth draped over it.
