Life is Beautiful

The bright lights in the studio started to hurt his eyes. They had already endured more than a couple of interviews from international media outlets all day, and been under all sorts of flashes and strobes of lights for photoshoots, card making, and a ton of other promotional activities for their show. To say that it was exhausting would be a gross understatement.

But to be seated right next to this woman through all of those things, and to hear her intelligent insights and quick-witted answers that sometimes made him hold his breath in awe: t watch the blush sweep across her face with every genuine smile she flashed at every compliment; to feel her weightless frame leaning against his shoulder and hear the sound of her laugh at every stupid joke he would throw in between; and to simply gaze at her beauty every chance he got.

This woman right here had truly made this experience beautiful for him.

But when the interviewer from Eccho Rights had asked him to describe the show in one sentence, he couldn't think of a good way to express his thoughts. Maybe because of all the feelings that had amassed in his chest just for being beside this woman all day. Suddenly, his brain went into an overdrive.

He was never good with words, never good with expressing his convictions in a coherent narrative. And yes it was a frustrating dysfunction when paired with an honest disposition such as his.  Only naturally, it had developed a tendency in him to blabber bowls of word salad to get his point across.

Fo this reason, he appreciated this woman beside him so much. Her patience when he took his time putting his thoughts into words. How she always helped him convey his feelings when he couldn't sort them out himself. Her ability to sum up his views when they began to form into an abstract of ideas. How he never had to try so hard and still she understood.

It had deeply enamored him.

She was like the missing piece to a puzzle that he had been trying to solve all his life.

So without giving it that much thought, he turned to her like he always did when he couldn't find the answer. She chuckled when their eyes met and his heart just knew.

“Life is beautiful,” he blurted in response to the interviewer's question.

It was the only answer he could find when he saw the rest of his life flash before him when he looked at her.
