Part 7//Blast from the past?

The next day at the compound was pretty chill and I only had to nip out to check out the security on this building that we were planning to raid for potential hydra links, but apart from that you could spend the whole day with the avengers and Tasha.
Your POV :
It was early morning 3 am maybe and there was no hope of falling asleep. Tasha lay arms over my stomach where I could feel a dull throb from the bullet wound still pressing into my side.
You could feels her steady breaths against your collar and he red wisps fanned out over the pillow. A whole day with Tasha. I thought about going now and checking out the building so I don't have to worry about it later. Tasha wouldn't be awake for hours unless she had a nightmare but her nights had been quite for the last two days. Pulling myself from her warm touch you slid out of bed pulling the dovet up around her face and sneaking into the bathroom.
Pulling you usual attire  lack jeans and a bomber jacket from years ago. I used to wear this on missions in the red room. It's funny. It's the only thing I still have and it doesn't bother me.

Looking at yourself in the mirror you stare at your dark eyes unable to tell weather it's from being punched in the face a few times or because of the tiredness. Splashing some cold water on your face you turn o head out grabbing  your gun from the bedside table and closing the door behind you.

Nats POV :
I woke up suddenly cold without y/n touch around me. She must have gone out or to the gym I thought to myself but ruled out the gym when her gun was gone from the table.
"Jarvis, where did y/n go this morning and when did she leave?"
"Morning miss romanoff, I believe y/n left at around 2:13am and headed to the location of tomorrow's mission"
I felt a little at ease she had gone early so she wouldn't have to do it later. Heading into the kitchen I poured myself a large mug of coffee and took a few ibroporfen before sinking into the large chair by the window waiting y/n's arrival.

Y/n's POV :
Arriving in the spot it was unusually quiet and isolated but I made my way up to a rooftop so I had a clear view of both the doors on the building. For the first hour it was quiet. Nothing but a young girl, 18 maybe going straight into the door. I snapped a few shots of her face and provided to watch as the light began to peak through the clouds and air began to warm up. Almost on syncs at 6am a group of no more than 10 girls all young marched into the door. I snapped more photos but non of them clear. I will have to edit them when I got home.
It was getting to light to see and if I was caught the mission was comprimised.

As I got home I was greeted by Jarvis and Nat who was in the kitchen talking to Sam and Bucky. A small smirk on her face. I turned on my heels and snuck up behind her resting my chin on her shoulder and bucking my hand between the waistband of her joggers and her tshirt.
She looked back slightly smiling at the familia touch and gave me a peck before handing me a mug of hot tea.

"Got any info on the location" buck asked
"Not really, I snapped a few pics but manly just some girls heading in this morning" I replied still leaning on Tasha shoulder with my chin breathing the familia was vanilla and sleep smell.

"I'm gonna go take a look at some of these pics" I said spinning her so she was facing me.
"Then we can go out or do something fun"

"That sounds good" she said kissing me with a smirk I could feel against my lips.
"Let me know what you find!" She shouted as I was leaving the kitchen.

I got back to the room and downloaded the images onto my laptop and sat at the desk while the computer cleared up the picture.
I was right, most of the girls were between 16 and 26. I felt a small shiver down my spine as the familia uniform and guns coughs my breath. No. No way it couldn't be. Tasha killed Drakov herself there was no wat the red room was still operational. You felt cold beads of sweat balling down your back as the door lock opening cut you frozen your trance. You snapped the laptop shut and turned around seeing Natasha walking over

"Hey you ok?"she asked looking concerned
I only nodded and looked deep into her green eyes. There is no way this is happening. I can't tell Tasha that the thing haunting her past is still real.
She pressed the back of her hand over my head looking concerned at my skin tone and damp brow.
"Y/n what's going on?" She asked
"Nothing, sorry I, fine, I jogged back before and had a sandwich before I left I think it's punishing me" I chuckled pulling her into my knee
"You sure?" She asked still looking concerned.
"I'm ok" I said pulling her face into my hands and kissing her deeply
She smirked against me and pulled me in closer for a hug placing her head into my collar.

"Did you find anything in the pictures?" She asked nodding at the laptop
"Erm, I don't know yet I'm still looking into it" I replied
"Want me to take a look" she asked reaching out to it.
"No don't worry" I said pulling her hand into me aand kissing it gently.
"Ok I'm going to go and make breakfast illl come back and check in a few mins" she said leaving

Tony. I need to talk to tony. He could help. He's the only person I trust with this.
I walk down to his lab laptop tight under my arm and see him in the corner tinkering away with something.
I press in the code and walk in frozen of what to say at the door.

"Hey kiddo" he said looking up briefly
When I didn't reply he looked up again
"Y/n, what happened are you ok" he asked making his way over
He look the laptop from under my arm and placed it on the desk next to us but my eyes couldn't leave it. He took my shoulders looking concerned when a single tear left my eye.
"I-I can't go back" I said voice cracking
"Go where?" He asked shocked by my reaction
"Tasha I can't make her do it it isn't fair she doesn't deserve it" I said sobbing slightly
He took me in my arms and held me against him the familia scent of men's cologne and sweet sweat flooding my nose.
"Y/n, Im not gamma make you do anything but you need to tell me what the hell is going on"
He said pulling away
"The red room" his eyes turned dark. He was the only one who knew the whole truth about what happened to me in there
"What" he asked again
"I went this morning to check out the location and I took pictures I said gesturing at the laptop"
He opened the laptop and stared and the screen blank with expression and looked back at me.
"Ok, tomorrow mission will be the same as usual, we will notify fury and get back up and you and Tasha don't have to go" he said calmly
"No,I need to go I need to kill Drakov"
"Y/n I'm not going to stop you from going but maybe this is to personal for you both"
I looked up
"No!"I said "Tasha isn't going, we can't tell her any of this." I said  almost shouting
"You have to, and you know that" he said still calm pulling me in for a hug

I did. I did know that but it would destroy her in seconds. I made my way into the gym and boxed for a few hours before small hands wrapped around my waist and I spun around grabbing her wrists to hard.
"I'm sorry" I said instantly stepping back
"No it's ok"she chuckled "what's got into you"
I just looked at her. So perfect.
Luge must have noticed something was off because she stepped closer.
"Y/n" she said taking my hand
"The red room"I blurted out
Taking a few short quick steps back she looked at me her eyes mister with tears
"What" she whispered
"It's still open, the red room is still around" I  said taking a step into her
"No, no. I killed him. I killed Drakov" she said
I just shook my head and held her arm as tears started to spring to her eyes.
"It's going to be ok" I said pulling her into my body
She was so desperate she paracticalky pushed her whole body weight into me trying to disappear forever.
"I told you I would protect you forever Natalia" I whispered into her hair as she gripped on to me.
That night neither of us slept and we stayed in the lounge with tony to keep us company and distracted watching movies but not focusing at all.
It was going to be a long night abs long wait for tomorrow's mission.
