Poisonous Choices

"Oi, Kasumi-san!" Bakakashi called out. I just let out a 'meh' and kept pacing, making him sigh. "Kasumi-san, please sit down. With you moving so much the poison will spread and you'll be dead in minutes."

"What's the point in rolling over and dying slowly?" I shot back, pausing my path and turning towards him. "I'm going to die anyway. My hands and feet are already getting numb, my arms and legs are freezing cold--by the time we get back to the village, I'll already be blue and totally cold!" I ranted. "There's no point in worrying about me." I finished softly as I turned to begin my pacing once more.

Sakura suggested that we give up after that, Bakakashi said the words that made Naruto plunge his kunai into his hand, making everyone gasp and I flinched, soon picking my pacing back up once more. Naruto gave his speech and it left a small smile on my face.

"Naruto, it's all well and good to rid yourselfof the poisoned blood, but any more than that and you'll bleed to death." Bakakashi informed. "Things will get hairy if you don't stop the bleeding quick...Seriously" He finished breezily, Naruto sweating bullets. Naruto began to flail about.

"Yikes!" He shouted. "Arg! No! No! I can't die like this, I say!"

"Show me--"

"Naru-kun, let me bandage your hand." I said softly as I walked up to them. He stopped running back and forth and stilled his upper half as he gave me his hand, his feet still shifting wildly from side to side.

"Help me!" He wailed.

"Naruto," Sakura began to scold. "You really are self-abusive, aren't you! That's masochistic!"

Bakakashi looked at his hand over my shoulder as I searched my pocket for a bandage.

"Um...um..." Naruto began, grabbing Bakakashi's attention. "Am I okay? You look awfully serious..." Naruto shook in fright, his eye twitching as he stared worriedly at Bakakashi.

I placed the bandage over his wound and began to wrap his hand, giving him a closed eye smile.

"You'll be perfectly fine, Naruto." I assured before staring down at my work. "Have a little faith in yourself. I sure as hell do."

"Will...Will you be okay, Kasumi-chan?" He asked, looking up at me with sadly worried eyes. "Your hands are really cold..." I looked at him and gave him a small smile, standing up and dusting myself off.

"Like I told you before, as long as you three survive, I don't really matter." I shrugged and began to walk away, but Naruto's hand caught my wrist before I could take more than one step. He spun me around and began to yell in my face, a determined gleam in his eyes.

"Of course you matter, Kasumi-chan!" He bagan. "You're a part of Team 7, you're a part on the village, you're our friend! You may not think you're important, but to us you are!" He paused to take in a deep breath before he continued on in a softer voice.

"You're the most important person I have, Kasumi-chan."

I stared at Naruto as a long silence stretched between us and everyone else. I continued to stare at Naruto unblinkingly as he held onto my wrist.

"N-Naruto..." I finally squeezed out, tears begining to form in my eyes. I launched myself at him and clung to his neck as he hugged me back. Everyone who wasn't a part of the hug slowly started to walk away, grouping together by the Chunnin to whisper and stare at us.
