I couldn't help myself from staring at Kai after the scene he just made. What is he thinking?
The headmaster inhaled, and began smiling again. "That was a rather ... interesting experience", he chuckled. "Please, who's next?".
I could feel Amara staring at me, and Dahlias' shy gaze following her lead. I didn't exactly want to do this after Kai myself, but why did it have to be me?
"I can do it", Dahlia muttered, and began standing up. I could feel a certain relief, but I couldn't let her. "If you don't want to, I can go before you", her eyes sparkled ... I couldn't help myself from feeling a certain joy seeing her like that.
"Yeah Neo, prove that you're a reliable person who wants to protect her from danger", she was as snarky as ever. I hope I don't have the same group as her, and end up being in the same class as her ... I hope by saying that, I didn't accidentally curse myself ... Again.
I walked over to one of the chairs, the headmaster giving me a kind look. "There's no need to be afraid, Neo", he was holding the orb.
I hesitantly picked it up, and squeezed it tight. I looked down at the table, seeing him picking up the orb and looking through it.
I wonder what he saw ... What information he gets by looking through it.
His mouth opened slightly, "You're rather unstable, Neo", his carefree smile shifted into a serious, straight face.
I could hear Amara laughing in the background, but I wasn't particularly amused. "What do you mean by unstable?", I asked, he placed the orb on the desk and noted it down.
"It just means your magic hasn't stabilised itself yet after it revealed itself. It'll probably go back to normal in a few days", he sucked in his lips.
I could hear Amara whisper, I could feel their eyes piercing through my neck.
I couldn't help myself from fiddling around with my thumbs, he kept going back and forth with his orb.
"Neo, 19 years of age, 23rd of April ... I'm a few days late, but allow me to say congratulations", I looked at him as I nodded.
I could feel the anxiety build up in my chest when he told me that. It was as if my mind was screaming at me, begging me to remember ... But doing so, felt like I would be stuck in an impenetrable doom.
I wonder what happened to me, to all of us ... But Scout told us not to worry ... That we were newborns.
I began staring off, drowning in my own thoughts ... I didn't notice that he had grabbed my hand. "Neo?", I snapped back.
"Sorry", I blinked, adjusting my posture. "Please open your hand", he asked rather gently, and so I did.
In my hand was a green orb, I could see the headmaster smirk. "Perfect", he whispered under his breath.
"What's perfect?", I muttered, but he shook his head. "Perfect as in ... We don't have many students in the same group as you", he began smiling again.
I don't know what happened, but I began to feel as if something was terribly wrong.
"You are a shape shifter ... Someone who can manipulate their body into any animal they like ... A combination of a strategist and a fighter. You lurk in the shadows, waiting for your prey to reveal itself and ..." "BAM", he clapped his hands together, the loud obnoxious sound of his voice echoed throughout the room.
"My apologies. I find shape shifters to be ... Rather fascinating", the smile on his mouth looked like it belonged to a pervert. Get me out of this chair, now.
