"I told you, 'Bo, I'm not going."

Bolin whined through the phone, piercing through Korra's ears. She really wished he wouldn't do that.

"Come onnnn, Korra! It won't be the same without you!"

Korra rolled her eyes practically to the moon, grabbing her coffee and sending a quick "Thank you." to the barista. She knew full well that the atmosphere wouldn't be the same without her. Bolin would never know that, though. After about two weeks of her telling her friends she'd see about coming with them on the trip, she finally made the executive decision to stay behind. It's not that she didn't want to go. A large part of her did. But her brain and logical thinking skills won over her social wants.

"Listen, 'Bo," Korra said. "As much as I want to go, the bar needs me. I can't just up and leave for five weeks." Her bartender job being in jeopardy without her wasn't a complete lie, but that was only a portion of her reasoning.

Bolin paused. "This isn't because Mako and Asami's coming, is it?"

Korra froze at the mention of those two names.

Ah, yes. Her five year crush and her three year ex. How ironic.

"N–no! Me and them actually get along now, if you must know." She lied.

Although the three of them didn't have anymore strings attached, it was extremely awkward for the two of them. The two of them being Korra and Mako. Asami seemed to be unbothered by the childish love-triangle. Korra on the other hand, couldn't help but naturally become an awkward mess as soon as she was present around the both of them. Mako was fully aware of the tension when she would come around, but at least the boxer could hold his composure. Asami though, was completely oblivious...

If she had to be on a ten hour car ride with the two, she could see herself jumping out ten minutes in.

"Anyways," Korra continued. "I don't think I'm going, so you can just call them and let them know. 'Mmkay?"

"Ugh, you're such a party pooper! You don't even go out!"

"Yes, because I'm perfectly happy in the comfort of my own home."

Bolin sighed. "Don't you wanna see Asami in a bikini?" He teased.

"No." Korra said, her voice flat. "I'm not a pervert. Don't you have a girlfriend?"

"I said don't you want to see her in one. Not me!"

Korra stayed silent. She knew this obviously wasn't going to go anywhere. She thought about just hanging up in Bolin's face right there, no matter how rude it was. Instead, she just sipped on her coffee, staying quiet until Bolin broke it.

"You know what," He sighed. "Fine, you dont have to go."

"I know I don't."

Bolin rolled his eyes. There obviously wasn't too much he could do at that point. Korra was set on sulking by herself for over a month. "You are one stubborn mule, 'Kor. But it's fine! I'll just listen to Taylor Swift's new album all by myself..."

"I guess you will." Korra replied. "I have to go, 'Bo. You guys have fun. Love you."

Bolin huffed in defeat. "Bye, Korra. Love you too..."

Korra hung up the phone and got up from her table, making her way to her usual gym. Sure, she felt bad for having to leave Bolin by himself, but he had Opal. And his brother. And Asami. Korra's presence was insignificant. She didn't know why the powerlifter was so appointed. Nothing would change with or without her there. She enjoyed being around her friends, but she and Mako could only get along for about two hours then they were at eachothers throats. Five weeks was far too long for her. She didn't want to ruin it for everyone.
