After finally putting out the fire with nothing but a tiny bit of water and the wind, we looked around to try and figure out what happened.
"What do you think happened?" Clarke asked.
"Grounder...the grounders had to have had a part in this," I decided.
"Murphy said that Gaul kept feeding the fire," Bellamy contradicted. "Mostly because Octavia told him not to."
"And we believe Murphy?" Clarke asked.
"Why wouldn't we..." I then realized the stupidity of my question.
"Well I do, actually," Bellamy nodded.
"We have some wild onions and nuts in the drop ship but it won't last long at all." Clarke sighed. "What's left here?"
"Nothing," I replied.
"It all burned..." Bellamy said standing up.
"Then we have to hunt," Clarke decided. "Anyone we can spare goes out."
Clarke then started to walk away but Bellamy stopped her. "With the whole grounder army out there?"
"Look we can't defend ourselves without food," Clarke said.
"To the drop ship!" I smirked knowing that I would most likely get to go.
________We gathered anyone we could for hunting and went to get the weapons.
"Everyone get a hunting partner! Make sure only to you spears, no guns! We can't waist the bullets. Make sure to bring a gun in case you run into grounders but no dumb shots!" Bellamy ordered over the ground.
Instead of grabbing a spear I decided to take the knife/spear thing I made awhile back. It worked pretty well with the wild boar.
"Where are you going?" Bellamy asked grabbing my arm.
"Hunting, duh," I answered.
"No," He replied taking the spear/knife.
"It's not like I can do much around here, you can spare me," I argued.
"No I can't," He muttered.
"Let her go Bellamy," Clarke stepped in. "She should go."
I smiled running right out of Bellamy's grasp. But when I turned back around his face looked like he was gonna cry. So I ran right back over to him and gave him a kiss on the cheek. He was caught of guard and jerked back a little. Laughing, I walked away with the rest of the group to the edge of the woods.
Everyone was weary and on edge because of the grounders and I don't think anyone except me truly wanted to go out here. Then everyone split up with their partners. All but me.
I didn't have a partner. It was me by myself. Bellamy would kill me if he found out I was going alone. I didn't mind much though, it was less annoying working alone.
I then stepped into the woods. Walking the opposite way of everyone else. I carefully navigated myself down a small cliff and around numerous trees. It didn't look like anyone had took this way before so hopefully there will be some boar lurking around.
The forest was completely silent and I didn't see anyone around. So, I continued on until I finally found some boar tracks. It's been about two hours and Bellamy wanted everyone back before sundown. It would probably take me like two hours to get back so I turned around. I made sure to retrace my steps and stay on my previous trail.
___________
It was just about dark when I got back. The grounders didn't attack yet, from what I could see, so that was good. There was patrols all over the fence line. I knocked on our make shift door to get into the fence.
"It's me, open up," I called and they opened up the door.
"Password?" Sterling smiled blocking me.
"Shut up," I said pushing past him.
"Wait...did you go out there by yourself?" He questioned grabbing my arm.
"Maybe..."I sighed.
"You should have went with someone," He criticized.
"I know," I sighed.
He just sighed and put his arm around my shoulders. When he tried to lean in and kiss me Bellamy started to walk by us. I pulled back and looked at Bellamy. He had an expression I couldn't read.
"Do you love him?" Sterling asked.
"What?" I asked.
"I know you guys have a thing. Everyone does," He said looking down.
"Sterling, I'm sorry it...it just," My voice trailed off.
"It's not your fault. You can't help what you feel for him," He smiled then leaned in and kissed me. "If it doesn't work out...I'm here."
Sterling then walked away over to the fence with his friends to continue patrolling. Did we just break up? I continued to just awkwardly stand there. There was one thing that I just kept thinking about.
Do I love Bellamy?
