The gang watched as Ash commanded his Pokemon on puting out the fire and attacking the helicopters.

"We-we should leave." Dawn said. There was no argument from everyone else. They ran down the path away from the academy, still trying to process what they'd seen.

Matthew and Carly were shocked as they came closer, confirming Carly's words that is was Ash. They walked up to him just as his pokemon put out the fire.

*People!* Mew exclaimed, making Ash, Pikachu, and the twins turn around. Mew was invisible, so the two siblings didn't see her as they walked up to Ash.

"So, that's your secret." Matthew said. "You have...what was that, anyway?" Ash finally figured out what they were talking about. *Uh-oh.* Pikachu said. *They must've seen!* Satin exclaimed.

Ash gritted his teeth. "None of your business." he said. "Oh, come on. We've already seen. You might as well tell us." Matthew said. "Leave me alone." Ash said. "No way. I want answers, and I'm not leaving until I get them." Matthew replied stubbornly.

Ash turned around and glared at them. "I could make your Pokemon turn on you in an instant. You'd best leave me alone." he said. Matthew scoffed. "You're bluffing. Rillaboom has been with me forever. He would never listen to you, much less turn on me." he said.

Ash snapped his fingers and rillaboom came out of it's pokeball. *Use a weak razor leaf.* Ash said. "But he's my trainer!" rillaboom replied. He had already sensed the power coming from this human, as well as all the pokemon energy. He figured out quickly that this was the fabled child of Arceus. *It won't hurt him. Just surprise him.* Ash replied. Rillaboom trusted him to be right and nodded, sending a weak razor leaf that came down right in front of Matthew, but it wasn't close enough to hurt him.

*Thank you.* Ash said. Rillaboom nodded and returned itself to it's pokeball. Matthew and Carly were shocked. Matthew had never expected his own starter to attack him!

Matthew and Carly looked at Ash with newfound fear. Ash glared at them, before walking off towards the partially burnt building.

Ash walked towards Red and Silver. "Hey!" he shouted, venom dripping from his words. They turned around and looked at him. "We meet again." Red said. As Ash came closer, he replied, "So you've really forgotten?" He stopped a few feet away. Silver gave him a hard glare. Red searched his eyes, before they landed on the loyal Pikachu on his shoulder. He gained a look of shock. "No..no, it can't be...Ash?" he asked, as recognition clouded his face.

Ash glared at him. "So you finally remembered. How ironic. While that was a day I could never forget, you had forgotten about it long ago."

While the trainers talked, the pokemon were having a conversation of their own.

"Pikachu, what's happening?" Sunshine asked a little frightened. Pikachu sent a hard glare at Red's pikachu. "It's a long story. But, you might as well find out now. You see, a long time ago, before Ash was a trainer, he had a brother." Mew explained. The twins found it hard to imagine Ash so young that he wasn't even a trainer. They also couldn't believe that he had a brother. "They were close...until the day it happened." Mew sighed. "What? What happened?" Sunshine asked. Mew sighed again. "It was the day Ash's life changed forever. His mother died, his brother went onto the side of their father, and Team Rocket."

Satin and Sunshine gasped. "How horrible." Sunshine said. Satin still had a look of shock on him. "Are you ok?" Sunshine asked worriedly. Then he mumbled something. "What?" she asked. "Arceus DIED?!" he shouted. "What? No! What? What in the world made you think that?!" Mew asked. "Well, you said his mom died, so I assumed...unless he had another mom...?" he said, confused.

"Ohh. Yeah. That. I'll have to explain later." Mew said as she floated back onto Ash's head to rest.

While the Pokémon talked, the people were talking too.

"Have you been here all these years?" Ash asked. Red shook his head. "I've kinda been...everywhere." he replied. "You know, when we were kids, I kinda imagined that when we grew up, I would win our first battle. But I guess I was wrong." Red gave a light chuckle.

Ash just stared. How they had changed...

From a small, worried, happy kid and a calm, kind, and tiny bit serious kid...Ash and Red.

Bonded as brothers.
