Chapter 7: CLASSIFIED and Watching

The gang was talking in the room that was assigned to Serena, Max, and Gary. They were discussing ways to find out about Ash's strange power.

"We need to find out more about Ash. If we can get to his roots maybe we can find out what it was." Clemont said. The others agreed. "There's only one problem with that. How are we going to find out about him?" Drew said. "I don't know. But one thing is for sure. He has a strange past." Max said. "And how do you figure that?" Bonnie asked. "Because I tried to see his files a few days ago." Max replied. "And?" Bonnie asked. "I snuck into Professor Sycamore's office and looked through the student files. Ash's was empty. It only said name, age, and date of birth." Max said.

"Well, what's his birthday." "Err, it was sort of marked over with a marker." he replied. "Well then, how old is he?" Brock asked. "Um, that was sort of marked over too. The only real information was his name." Max said, sweatdropping. "That doesn't really help as we already know that." May remarked. Max sighed. "I went on the computers too. I hacked into the online student files. I checked some of them on the way to Ash's and I was able to get into them fine. But when I clicked on Ash's, it popped up 'CLASSIFIED' and I needed another password." Max explained.

"Strange. Why would his file need such heavy security?" Dawn asked. "I dunno. But that's not all." Max replied. "Well? Out with it." May said to her brother. "Ok, geez. On the way to Ash's file, I accidentally clicked on another file. And get this. It was marked 'CLASSIFIED' too." Max said. "Who's was it?" Misty asked.

"Red's."

Ash was unpacking a few of his things. He hadn't seen Silver for a while. He noticed Carly come into the room. "Hey." she said. Ash noticed there was a bit of uncertainty in her voice. 'Wonder what that's about.' he thought. Ash then heard her leave. "Let's go meet the others now." Pikachu said. "Yeah! They must be dying to get here." Mew agreed. Ash smiled and stood from what he was doing, leaving the room. He headed for the nearby forest. When he was deep enough in, he extending his arms and made a circle with his hands. A beam shot out from them and created a sizable portal.

Then Sunshine and Satin came through it, followed by a laughing Poipole and an excited Sparkle. Solgaleo jumped through, and Ray came in on his back. "Guys!" Sunshine exclaimed. "We were wondering when the portal would open!" Sparkle exclaimed. Solgaleo sat down and Ray slid down his back and jumped to the ground.

"We had to wait ages for you!" Ray said. "Sorry. It took a little while to get settled in enough that it was safe." Ash replied. "Well, now that we're here, lets go have some fun!" Poipole exclaimed.

Carly was wandering around the school, thinking about her latest discovery. A bunch of questions were swirling around in her head. 'Just what are Ash and Red hiding?' 'How does Ash even know Red?' 'Does anyone else know about this?'

She stopped when she noticed someone sitting on a nearby bench with an umbreon and a midnight lycanroc. 'Hey, isn't that the boy who was talking to Ash? Why was Ash so nice to him? Come to think of it, didn't they seem to know each other? Does that mean Ash has been to Alola before?' All these questions were starting to drive her crazy. Carly needed to get to the bottom of this. She didn't know how long she could stand all the suspence.

She started towards him, before stopping when she heard the bushes near the forest rustling. A moment later, a figure came out, and Carly darted behind a building to avoid being seen. She didn't exactly know why she was being so sneaky. What did it matter if they saw her? But she stayed behind the building anyway.

When she peeked out from behind the building, she saw the boy talking to someone else. Upon further inspection, she realized it was Ash.

She noticed he now had another pikachu, a raichu, and two eevee with him. 'Huh. He didn't bring those pokemon with him on the plane. They must've been inside their pokeballs.' she concluded.

She strained to here what they were saying, but finally gave up. She was too far away. A moment later, the boy got up and followed Ash into the forest. Carly decided to do what any reasonable person would do. She followed.

As she walked towards the forest, she happened to look a bit to her left, and she saw someone watching the forest from behind a building. 'Seems familiar.' she deadpanned to herself. The person didn't seem to notice her, so she backed up and went back to her place behind the other building. When she looked again at the figure, she realized he looked strangely familiar. When she strained her eyes, she realized who it was.

It was Red.
