Chapter Ten + JoySé side story

"What's up? Why'd you call me here on such short notice?" Joy asked, rushing to the same picnic table Wendy was sitting at.

"Irene.. I heard her say the most unbelievable thing.." Wendy said, staring into space.

Joy took a seat in front of Wendy. "What!? What'd she say?" Joy asked curiously.

"She.. Actually, maybe I misheard-" Wendy said before getting cut off. "Spill it already! I didn't come over here for nothing!" Joy said, interrupting her.

"Well, I heard her say she likes me!" Wendy told the other, Joys face remaining the same.

"I told you!" Joy said. "I told you she likes you, but you didn't listen!" Joy said once again, rolling her eyes. "So what are you gonna do now that you know she likes you? Do you like her too?" Joy asked Wendy.

"Mhh.. I'm not sure what my feelings towards her are." Wendy replied. "Well, tell me how you feel about her." Joy said.

"I feel.. Ahh, I really don't know!" Wendy sighed. "C'mon Wendy, you don't feel ANY sort of emotion towards her?" Joy said, sounding obviously annoyed.

"Well, I like being around her, but I also feel afraid becuase she intimidates me.. I feel like everything I do around her is embarrassing but I also feel happy and warm inside when I'm around her, I just- I don't know! It's complicated!" Wendy said, banging her head on the table until Joy grabbed her hand.

"Wendy, stop! I have an idea for you to figure out your feelings towards her!" Joy said, Wendy picking her head up and looking at Joy. "Really?" Wendy asked. "Yes!"

"How about you go on a date with her?" Joy suggested. "What!? That's too embarrassing to ask!" Wendy said, her cheeks turning red. "What do you mean? You said she likes you, so she'll be happy to go out with you!" Joy said, smiling.

Wendy thought about it for a bit before agreeing to Joy's idea.

"Fine.. I'll ask her." Wendy sighed. "But I'm nervous!" Wendy said immediately after. "Wendy, have some confidence! Maybe after the date, you'll have your first girlfriend, hmmm?" Joy said teasingly, her and Wendy both giggling.

"Okay okay, I'll ask tomorrow. Thank you for the help, Joy." Wendy smiled, Joy smiling too.

The two stood up and hugged, both heading their seperate ways after. Wendy going home and Joy going to her girlfriends house.

Joy knocked on the door, Rosé opening it and quickly pulling her in. "Why are you here so late!?" Rosé asked, shutting the door and crossing her arms. "Now we won't have long to hang out because my parents will be home soon!" Rosé said, raising her voice and sighing after.

"I'm sorry Rosie, my friend needed to talk to me! I won't be late next time, I promise you." Joy said, grabbing Rosé's hand and kissing it.

"It's okay, I guess.." Rosé said, rolling her eyes. "Let's go upstairs." Joy said, grabbing Rosé's hand.

"No, we can't! What if we don't hear them knock on the door?" Rosé said worriedly. "I can just hide under your bed or something, right?" Joy suggested. "C'mon, don't get too nervous. Let's hang out upstairs, pleeease?" Joy begged, hugging Rosé's arm.

"Fine, I guess.." Rosé shrugged and walked upstairs with Joy.

The two watched TV, ate snacks and talked about their life.

"How've you been? You don't text me as much lately." Rosé said, hugging Joy's arm as the two cuddled together. "I've been good.. I haven't been texting you or anyone a lot lately because there's a new club I found out about!" Joy smiled.

"I go there every night, it's so fun." Joy said, continuing to ramble about parties and friends.

"Why don't you ever take me to the parties with you, huh? I'm a party girl!" Rosé said, doing shoulder dances.

Joy giggled, laughing it off. "Rosie, your parents are way too strict. They don't even let you have a girlfriend- they'd be pissed if they found out about me, so what do you think their reaction would be if you went to a club with me, huh? They don't even like me!" Joy rambled, Rosé frowning.

"I'm sorry Rosie. When you're older and don't live with your parents anymore, we could go to parties every night together!" Joy smiled, hugging her girlfriend.

Knock knock

"Crap!" Rosé said quietly. She pushed Joy into her closet, closing it before running downstairs to greet her parents.

"Hi dad! Hi mom!" Rosé said, greeting her parents.

"Chaeyoung, you didn't have anyone over, did you?" Rosé's mom asked, looking around.

"Nope, never in a million years."
