He was driving her mad. Absolutely mad. Ever since their day alone in the shop together she hadn't been able to get those images out of her head. All he had to do was smirk at her in that knowing way and it completely derailed her. Often even making her drop whatever she was holding.
George of course found it funny and took full advantage of it anytime he was bored. Though it frustrated him a bit she wouldn't let him anywhere near her while they were in the shop. Quickly making her escape anytime he got to close. He finally managed to corner her in her office one foggy afternoon when she answered a call on her muggle phone.
He could tell by her excitement and delight it was probably either Hermione or her parents. If he had to guess by how she had let her guard down it was unexpected too. He quietly shut the door behind him and locked it as she turned her chair towards the windows and away from him.
"Yeah it's foggy here too. I'm hoping we get some sun soon."
Keeping as quiet as possible he began to creep his way towards her.
"Oh really? So I'm assuming it's going well with Ron then?" Lyra asked teasingly and he felt his stomach flip as her musical laugh filled the space. Her delight clear. "Relax I'm only teasing. I'm by myself anyways."
So you think. He chuckled to himself
Her chair began to turn and George quickly closed the space between them. Grabbing the sides of her seat so she couldn't move. She jumped with shock her head looking up and back. Her cheeks turning a bright scarlet as her blue eyes met his brown ones. He grinned wickedly, and she felt her heart skip at his glee.
"A-actually love, I'll have to let you go I think I hear one of the twins now. They probably need help with the shop."
George grin widened and mouthed the word 'liar'
Her blush deepened and her wide eyes narrowed into a glare. "Yes, I'll let them know and give you a call once I know for sure. Great. Talk to you soon-"
George leaned over to her desk and pressed down on where the phone usually sat hanging up the call with one hand, using the other to quickly swing her chair around to face him.
"So." He began "how long do you plan to keep avoiding me?"
"W-who said I've been avoiding you?" She asked already eyeing the door.
He raised an eyebrow. "I think you running from me like I'm a blast ended scroot anytime we're in the shop was kind of the biggest indicator."
"I-Its your own fault."
He leaned in further "mmmm I don't know. I think it may be because your worried if I managed to get close enough to you, you wouldn't have the will power to stop me."
Lyra met his gaze before bolting for the door. George darted left wrapping an arm around her and scooping her up in his arms. He plopped down in her seat situating her on his lap his arms wrapped around her with an iron like grip.
"Now," he chuckled resting his head on her shoulder his breath fanning her neck. "who were you talking on the phone with about my brother?"
The sensation of his breath on her skin made her mind go fuzzy and it took her a moment to form a cohesive thought."D-don't you have work to do?"
"Nope. Told Fred I was stepping out for lunch." He said placing a kiss at the base of her neck "was it Hermione?"
An alarm bell went off in the back of Lyra's head but she couldn't focus on it, busy trying to keep her wandering mind on track and away from the darker places it wanted to go. "N-No."
